Why do people want Jonny to win BB3?

Firstly, I am not a Jonny hater. I say that because it seems you have to hate one person in order to really like another!
I think all 5 housemates (erm..okay maybe not Tim!)
have got their qualities and none of them are quite as fantastic/hateful as many people would have us believe but.....

I really can't see why Jonny is so popular and so many people want him to win Big Brother 3.

Jonny fans, please tell us why you want him to win above the others?

I want Alex to win because despite his faults (yes he can be boring and he does moan and whinge a lot) but he has consistently made me laugh out loud more than the rest of the people throughout the series and I find him to be a quirky, interesting and endearing person and pretty unique. I also think he has been the most genuine person in the house and has never been afraid to show his feelings and has not courted the public's affection. Because of these things, I think he would be a very worthy and deserving winner.

Jonny is okay and I do not dislike him but he fits a few stereotypes and his 18-30 type antics and common man of the people persona do not make him a worthy winner in my eyes. In fact, I think it would be a big shame much like I felt when Craig won BB1 over Anna and Darren (Both of whom I thought were really interesting and unique people).

I just don't see what Jonny has done or what is so special about him to warrant the amount of crazed support that I read so regularly in this and other forums.

Please don't turn this thread into another battle, I am genuinely interested in people's opinions and it would be great to hear some genuine opinions without descending into the usual bitterness and nastiness!!

I think that's garbage. There have been plenty of examples of housemates 'shining' this time. Jonny tries so hard to impress and be liked, I for one cannot see any likeable qualities in the man. I'm intrigued as to what Jonny supporters like about him, I really am.

I should think there's a lot of newsagents/off licences in Elstree hoping he wins as he'll be straight round for £70k worth of baccy and booze

He is not in touch with his feminine side 24/7.

Always a bonus!

Personally speaking, I'd like Johnny or Kate to win.

I think that they're both nice people and would like to think that they deserve to win the prize money. As for the others:

Tim - In no sense is he a particularly likeable character - don't think that needs too much explanation!

Jade - she's incredibly loud and her 'baby voice' can be annoying (though both can be explained away by her lack of maturity) but her two-faced behaviour and pretty horrid treatment of Sophie add further evidence.

Alex - can't think of anything nice to say about the guy. I find him hyper-sensitive when things are said about him but often unable to take the feelings of others into account. He is unwilling to compromise and seems to moan about the most insignificant things.

I don't think it's a coincidence that he's made friends with Sandy, Adele and Tim - he tends to get on well with people that are like him. I can't see why some see him as 'amusing' - he may be funny to laugh at (much like Jade) but he rarely says anything that allows you to laugh with him.

Is that the best you can do! Rather than say something positive about Jonny, you insinuate something negative about another housemate. My, he really is in trouble!

Well I'm not actually a Jonny supporter but I expect they would say (if they could be bothered to call a truce for a rational moment) that they enjoy the playfights and his larking about, that they generally find him amusing, that he tries to liven the house up as he understands fun, that he has been sympathetic to people that nobody else could be bothered with (most recently Jade), that he actually does go out of his way to cheer people up and that he empathises with others and hates to see them unhappy.

Some of that is true to one extent or another and some is, in my opinion, a pile of old donkey-doos but that seems to be how they see it!

Ok those opinions are all vaild HOWEVER the thread here is concerend with what do people LIKE about JONNY (other than "he's a nice person" aren't there specific aspects about his character that you warm to or is he just that plain and one dimensional?!) not about what Jonny fans don't like about the other housemates.

Well, I don't want him to win. It's as simple as that!

I find him false, incredibly manipulating, tedious and does whatever he can to steal another persons limelight, if he thinks that the cameras on them more than him.

Basically, he's totally self centred.

I don't like Jade at all, but I'd rather she won it over Jonny the clown.

I'd like to see Alex and Kate as the last 2, and hopefully Alex winning it.

As I said, I'd like either Kate or Johnny to win because they are both nice, honest, genuine people.

Can't say the same about the other 3. Rather have someone that I could warm to win it, than one of those that I never could.

It really bewilders the mind why people like Jonny's larkish humour and his constant jealousy when Kate tries to escape from him? The highlight of his day is talking about "Me Mam" and his boring exploits of wanting to be liked.

I'm perfectly calm "sweetie"
Why on earth would you think I would be aggravated by anything written on an internet forum? Maybe you would "sweetie" not me!

It's pretty obvious that Jonny 'fans' are blinkered sheep, who don't really know why they like him, if his 'fans' can only respond with poor attempts to patronise or come up with "he's nice" to describe him isn't it!

He makes us all proud to be British.

In the days when the media, television, the cinema have gon overboard with political correctness up steps Sid the Sexist (oops, I mean Jonny) to show us what real men are all about.

None of that nancy boy caring stuff, no healthy living, just a good old fashioned chain-smoking chauvinist reminding us of all that is great.

* Women always mean YES when they protest NO.
Good old Jonny, thats really reassuring. Those poor blokes who are being persecuted for not knowing when to stop: yes, Jonny is their champion.

* Women deserve a good whipping with a leather belt.
Good old Jonny, physical abuse is not really that bad after all. Indeed, its sooooo funny it's worth acting out a skit about it.

* Chain smoking is cool
Wow yes, none of that pathetic going outside for a smoke out of consideration for others. Of course not: Jonny needs his baccy and if the others don't like it they can always leave: who is stopping them. Bleedin well jealous anyway, all of em. They know they love the scent of smoke but are too stingy to buy thier own. passive smoking dangerous? bah, not according to fireman Jonny.

* Piss on the floor, piss on the sink YES!!
No need to feel a slob: just do it. Heck, they winge when he pisses on the seat so pissing on the floor is a good compromise

* Cheerful chappie
Well, the morose stand in was a bit depressing for a few weeks but he cheered up again once the house was free of that nasty lesbin who didn't want to play his "women love it " games.

* The most genuine guy in the house.
He has been consistent throughout. He deserves everything he gets.

In summary: a cheerful chappie who had learned all he knows by the age of 10. It;s not his fault he acts the clown so much: his mum probably entered him for loads of holiday-camp-talent-shows. I wish he would learn a new act

Gove JONNY the £70K now and spare us the next two weeks!

Hey come on!!!
Why do some people always have to fight? I asked nicely that this thread be a place to actually have some mature discussion and maybe Jonny fans could have their say without being attacked and Alex fans could realise why people liked Jonny so much.

So far, Jonny fans haven't come up with anything and have instead used it as another opportunity to attack Alex!

Come on guys, there are more than enough childish and pointless threads. Let's get to the bottom of this!!

Jonny fans can never come up with a valid reason why they like their hero other than he resembles one of those reps you see on an episode of Ibiza unconvered who encourages everyone to get drunk and act like an idiot.
Benson

You won't get a valid answer on this one. The only reason people want Jonny to win is so that Alex doesn't. They see Jonny as Alex's nemesis and therefore think they are getting at Alex fans by saying they want Jonny to win.

There is absolutely nothing to like about the Geordie firefighter. He is an out and out wannabe, the proof of this has come straight from the horses mouth. He's commented on his band, holiday camp talent shows and his acting.

He has the type of repetitive humour that would test the most patient of people and I cannot begin to imagine what it must be like being in the house with him.

Unfortunately this year it is probably a case of 'who is it you dislike least'. They're not the best bunch, but here's my reasoning.
Jonny - because he makes an effort to enjoy himself.
He has definitely bitched less than anyone else.
He has offered support to others at appropriate times without being over the top with it.
He has tried to get on with everyone.
He rescues kittens from trees
The more ridiculous hate threads i see on here i support him more.
I think the reason you havnt had many takers on this thread is because of the aggressive anti-Jonny posts that inevitably follow any support for him. But ill brave it.

This is a thread that I thought could be interesting.

An open invitation for Jonny suppoters to show us what they LIKE.
Only two have posted something that is fair and rational.

The only other Jonny supporters who have turned up are the usual; "you're getting desperate"/ "this is just another Jonny bashing thread" etc.

Now when the opportuntiy arises, they decline to offer any input other than the one line sneering jibe.

It's not about Alex or any other housemate, it's just What do you like about Jonny? Nothing more nothing less.

It seems that for some Jonny fans, they're more able at describing their dislike for Alex, than they are to highlight Jonny's good qualities.

Come on Jonny fans, you must be capable of some positive feelings for your own favourite.

Benson, couldn't it just be that some people dislike Alex because he's not come across as a particularly pleasant person?

I would say the same about both Tim and Jade (you could add the likes of Adele into that list too). That, for me, is the reason that I'd like either Kate or Johnny to win.

Would you class me as 'anti Alex'? Well, I guess that I don't like him, so I must be. Am I 'pro Johnny'? Similarly, I find him to be one of the more reasonable housemates (along with Kate), so I guess that I must be that too.

Do I only like Johnny because I don't like Alex? Clearly not, as outlined above...that would be the same as saying that I "only like Kate because I don't like Tim".

I respect your opinions and am interested in your views but please don't try and put words into my mouth. I don't like Alex - you clearly do. Each to their own.

If this is true(and so far it hasn't been disproved) then isn't it sad that we may get a winner for these reasons, to stop someone else winning?

The responses (and lack of) to this thread have really surprised me.

I'm not a Jonny or an Alex supporter but would like to point out that; at the moment according to DS, Kate and Jonny are sitting talking about Alex (and I have to say Kate let Alex do a lot of things to her for someone she has just said she feels uncomfortable with!!), there's nothing wrong with them talking about Alex but in the same breath there's nothing wrong with Alex talking about either of them, it's human nature, it's what we all do. Yes Alex is having a tantrum over being nominated, but so did Jonny on all 3 occassions that he was. All the HMs are in there playing a part, we don't know what any of them are like in real life, we can only guess. Kate should win it for getting her kit off at every available opportunity, Alex should win it for giving us someone to laugh at, Jade should win it for giving us all someone to talk about, Jonny should win it for being the best at keeping up the act that all of them are playing. Tim I'm sure is a plant so will be getting paid plenty anyway
