Well it's probably the only original( non repeat) show worth watching on xmas day.

otherwise I'll find a good game to play, a book, a good couple of movies or be too drunk to care.

Well, that was sort of fot Stuart!

But he's right - it should be alternative Earth (even if I shouldn't start a sentence with 'but').

I say 7.1m (but obviously I'd like better).

How about Only Fools and Trojan Horses? Could be both computer related and mythologically related.

You know...I'm 29 years old, and this is the most excited I've been about Xmas in at least 15 years, how sad is that!

I'm voting for a 12 million start, dropping to 10 million at the end.

i would like to think it would get more than 10 million, based on the ratings for the first series, and given that christmas day audiences are traditionally the highest of the year. i would expect the soaps to get around 13 million, but DW to be the top rated non-soap of the day. 11 or 12 million would be the best we can hope for, anything over 10 million would be (for want of a better word) "fantastic"

On the LBC news theyve just said that those who have watch the preview tapes said it was brilliant.

OK, I know it'll take a while for official figures to come out, but do we get "overnight" figures for Christmas, what with Boxing Day and Bank Holidays and all? When might we actually find out?

usually the figures come out within a day or two, then the "official" figures arrive about a week after. as i said above, expect the soaps to come out on top, but i think dw will be the top non soap show, and ahead of all the "blockbuster" (haha) movies

I've changed my mind and I'll say it will be the most-watched tv programme this Christmas.

16m.

Not quite as sad as a 37 year seven year old who's never been this excited about xmas in at least 23 years.

Doctor Who ratings? I'd say about 8.7 million - or there abouts.

This is taken from the Outpost Gallifrey site:

Here's the Top 10

1 EastEnders 10.1 million (BBC1)
2 Dr Who 9.4 million (BBC1)
3 Coronation Street 9.4 million (ITV1)
4 Two Ronnies Christmas Sketchbook 7.9 million (BBC1)
5 Shrek 6.7 million (BBC1)
6 Emmerdale 6.6 million (ITV1)
7 Toy Story 6.5 million (BBC1)
8 Celebrity Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? 6.3 million (ITV1)
9 The Queen 6.2 million (BBC1)
10 BBC News 6.50pm 6.2 million (BBC1)

and THIS and THIS seems to comfirm it.
