Samsung DVD-HD850, worth it?

Been looking at this DVD player for it's HD upscaling abilities...

I currently have a Ronin DVD player which has proved excellent so far...it does do progressive scan.

Now, I have just bought an LE40R51B.

When I get my LE40R51B set up...will there be a huge difference between watching DVDs on my Ronin 'with' and 'without' Progessive scan?

Also, how good is the Samsung DVD player? Will it be much better than progressive scan on my Ronin?

The samsung is suposed to be one of the better HD dvd upscaler player, better than LG's.

but it wont be much difference to the progressive scan output

About this player - does it come with an HDMI cable? I've just bought a new HD tv and have been wanting to get a HD player. However, I've read that some dont come with HDMI cables?

Also, which HD dvd players can be region hacked? I've got a lot of region 1 dvd's so would still need to be able to watch them on a new player.

Jim, the latest edition of T3 rates this one 4 out of five, so I reckon I'll be going for this one where before I was going to buy the LG9900.

They were sold with and without at different times. Samsung supplied the cable at one time and then took the cable from the box. You can region hack this as I have one I am not using and it is hacked to multi-region.

Don't stress about it, if it doesn't come with one you can get one of these for £7.09+VAT!
