To date Channel 4 and partner have made over 10 million on voting phone calls alone - and there`s still 10 days to go..
so it will probably reach the 20 million by the end

When i see people on here saying they`re gonna press the redial button to evict or support Alex, Jonny etc
Channel 4 must be rubbing their hands with glee

What does it matter who wins the £70,000 ??
HMs will get more than that with the press etc

Save your money and give it to a worth while charity

Anyone agree ?
p.s. apologies for not slagging any HMs in this thread

Hear hear...

I'm now so fed up with BB I've decided to go on holiday next week...missing the last week of BB doesn't seem so bad after all.
(I might just set the video though )

Well said
More charities should take a leag out of ch4s book and get ppl telephoning a designated number charged at 50p-£1

I think the votes should be 10p next year! Either that or....a percentage of the money raised goes to charity - like in Celeb BB?????

It would be more of an incentive to vote, and everyone would feel better for voting!

Not that it will happen because Big Brother is too much of a Cash Cow for C4/Endomol...!

I like what you are saying and fully support it but we do have to remember that it is a business and like so many others they are simply out to make a lot of bucks at our expense.

It has been such as sucess coz we are all pretty weak individuals (myself inc) and just love to think that we have the deciding vote, when in fact we are just adding to the wallets of the fat cats.

Sometimes I actually believe that our votes mean nothing and the outcome is decided by the producers. I do watch the X-files a lot though

Last year, a percentage of the phone vote proceeds went to three homeless charities; I think it raised a few hundred thousand pounds for them if I remember rightly.

The reason there's been no such charity this year is because C4 are £20 million in debt, believe it or not, and need it all.

Jason C has raised a bigger issue here - have Channel 4 deliberately put people in the house that will cause a lot of public tension and therefore votes..thus raising much needed phone call revenue because they are in so much debt? Interesting...

Proud to say that I have not spent one penny on eviction phone calls this year!!!!!!!!!

Just thinking though how many people have phoned up that number to "listen" to what's going on in the house and if its anything like the live telly feeds, paid for listening to planes or birds for 15mins!
