Female voters

Yes I think a male celeb will win this year because when the programme started I think it attracted a lot of female viewers who loved the sparkle etc and voted on the girl who theyd like to be all dressed up like. The serious viewer whos stuck with the show would have voted for their fave dancer too ie Anton but now the beeb is pushing for a broader vote with butch cricket stars and trendy chefs to get more phone votes

... and Martin Offiah wasn't butch?

I think the make-up of the contestants has always been the same in all 3 series:

ie, Hospital Drama actors, a sports person or two, a couple of TV presenters, and soap actors.

The only change is in the number of competitors, from 8 to 10 and this series 12 - hence the long haul - but hey, I'm not complaining. The only sad aspect is losing past much loved Pro dancers who don't return for the new series. I thought that South African lady dancing with Diarmuid last year was very good.

Not calling the lad, just a bit of trivia:

When Martin Offiah played for Wigan, there were a lot of, "Martin, where's your handbag?", jokes.

Not meant to say he was effiminate, just that he tended to avoid the tackles &, at the time, Reeeves & Mortimer were doing their lines about handbags at forty paces; so the gist of it was that by using a handbag at forty paces was the only way he'd risk coming into contact with another player (I think it was meant as a sort of compliment on his abilities, but they can be a funny lot in Wigan - LOL)

How kind of her, she sounds lovely! I remember last year on ITT she said her ideal man was David Beckham, and when Claudia said, "Yes, but people don't like his voice", she replied, "Well, we wouldn't be doing alot of talking!" LOL!

Forgive me for being out of the loop, but I presume she was married to Matthew, and his dance partner? And they broke up - in both senses? They both seem too nice to ever have had a row!
