The other point to bear in mind, if you want Claudia to read the contents of a thread, is that they only seem to read messages from those that can't be interpretted as in any way critical of the show, couples, judges, or the BBC.

Real controversy just doesn't seem to fit in with the show's family entertainment category (this is how Auntie classifies it, no matter how the ublic perceives it).

It also needs to be short, snappy and to the point!

What seems to be being forgotton is that they are all taking a journey. All improving.

So, even on improvement, Colin, Zoe and Darren deserve to be in the final. Its the final CRH was talking about.

James is entertaining, but no more than the others. In fact his constant squeezing of Camilla is becoming vaguely irritating.

James has improved but, again, no more than the others have and his improvement has decidedly levelled off in recent weeks.

We will have an entertaining and thrilling final if D,Z and C are in it and they WILL NOT be producing dances of the level they did at week one, whether they were good then or not.

If its not a dancing competition,, then why bother with marks from the judges. just let the public vote for their fav celeb.. whether the celeb in quesion as talent for dancing, can scrape by or are perfect! Also why bother practising, and getting better... they could just go out on the dance floor and do their own thing!

I think it's a mix of a dancing competition (hence the judges) and a light entertainment show (hence why the public can get involved and vote for whoever they choose).

I have heard more than one SCD competitor (Ian and Will, if I remember rightly) saying that they accept that it's more than just about who dances the best, it's about who the audience connects with. If they can accept it, why can't we?

I think you should all get a life. It's a tv programme which aims to entertain and raise money for charity - end of story!! All these sad people who "hate" this person or that person or are "distraught" at the "travesty" of the public vote should listen to themselves. They sound like playground idiots with no intellectual capacity to speak of.

Eeek, be prepared for a backlash (but not from me).

I think suggesting that people 'get a life' is a clichéd and unnecessary put down. We all have lives, some of it happy, some of it a daily grind.

A show like this gives people 12 weeks of fun and enjoyment and is very much a part of our lives for that short time. With so much bad going in the world, I wonder what provokes you to question a little bit of good?

Oh, and if you're questioning my intellect, please try to insult me with a more original phrase.

Now, who wants to play Strictly Come Dancing with me in the playground?

Ill play!!! otherwise life would be dull!!

its like going to the cimena and not getting involved in a film, well its not real is it!!

i think SCD is the kind of program u cant help but get involved in and cant help feeling sad and all tht when ur faves go
i think its because u see the celebs go thru such a journey tht u become so attached ad its just such a fab program!!!
i'll join u in the playground!!!

Well of course, this is the playground

Come on, Old Bird, dare you to join in!

Right I will put my point up The judges should know that if they mark someone with a low score the public will keep them in it is up to the public how they keep in at the end of the day the judges are they just to pass judge ment also the celbs are not pro dancers and I think they forgrt that sometimes
musicangel

i agree craig was a bit dense saying why was james kept in! even when we said he was the worst?? because of the hammering he took of the judges thats why!???

Hear, here <covered both angles due to the fact I never know which one is correct!!>

Zoe, although having never danced ballroom before has shown a natural ability..... Colin also

It has been a much harder battle for James and to alot of extent Darren, so which should be rewarded?

I am too lazy to quote here, but someone said earlier in this thread that the reaction to Colin and Erin on Saturday was unbelievable - EXACTLY! There were two breathtaking routines and they got people up off their seats - even in the kitten home - with excitement. D A N C I N G is king (or queen)

Yes I will vote for the most improved couple, but this post originally was a response to the likes of CRH and people on here who say Zoe just has to get to the final because she is the best dancer. Well she may be the best in the judges eyes, but she is most certainly not the most improved and that is what I watch for on SCD.

Last year I found it so dull to watch Jill (who was technically great) stay at the same level and really not improve that much over the weeks, both Denise and Julian both did that and they deserved their place in the final.

All I was aiming to say is that the greatness of the dancing is not the most important thing, and should not be made the be all and end all of this show!

PS - Dancingbearbear, when I have had a comment about SCD in the past I have emailed the BBC about it, but they give you a generic reply, so really what is the point in doing that?

If you have voted for the "most improved" as you say minihoy and not merely for your fave personality. Then who pray tell did you vote for?. Colin and Erin, Darren and Lillia raised their game this week. Zoe didn't...but I will let her off because of her cold. James, as Bruno said has reached a plateau and did NOT get any better. If as I suspect that you voted for James. He himself has entered into the competitive nature of the show and was at least in the early stages of the series was trying to beat fellow Yorkshire Darren Gough and get a high score from the judges

If SCD was a "competition" surely all the original contestants (celebs, that is) would have been of equal merit as are the professionals. How the heck could someone of the stature of Gloria Hunniford stood upto the gruelling training the top people have gone through. She admitted early on how she felt about some of the dances. Noway was the lady going to be sexy and raunchy. It wasn't a fair competition from the start, because it isn't a competion, its an entertainment show where poeple are perfectly free to vote for whomever they wish and for whatever reason AND raise money for charity.

People ARE free to vote for whomever they wish. My contention is that folks should straight up say they are voting for their favourite no matter how good or bad they are dancing.....and not in my view come up with the spurious argument of enjoying the "most improved".

Altho Colin is my favourite I have voted for others who I genuinely felt were either better than him on the nite or vastly improved from the week before

About the contestants who-have-no-chance-winning(re Lady Boz)...

I often compare SCD to a knockout football (or whatever) tournament where despite all sorts of interesting things happening in the early rounds (the FA cup is famous for it), the best teams usually make it the final. It would unfair to bar people like Gloria/Dennis/Esther/David/etc. because they can't compete with the younger/fitter celebs, but I think they must realise that they can only get so far and must therefore make the most of their experience (and they often do).

I have no problem with people voting for who they like (and won't throw a hissy fit if James ends up depriving someone of a place in the final), but (as Diamondlife said) trying to justify it in dancing terms is a bit daft

Thanks Lady Boz - I completely agree with everything you say - and yes Diamond Life I did vote for James and Camilla on Saturday because in my eyes they, as well as Darren and Lillia have come on a journey against the odds, improved vastly and they should be congratulated for that!

I just think that saying, it must be the best dancers in the final , turns SCD into something that it is not, as Lady Boz says, it is an entertainment show and people can vote for who they like, but geting your knickers in a twist, like CRH just because James may get into the final over Zoe is just pointless!

Exactly there is nothing wronmg with voting for your favorite, but to appreciate how good the other people have been and to vote for them too has to happen otherwise scrap the show! because if someone goes out there and gets two tens! and gets voted off because they arent as cute or dont have a massive woman following! but they have worked there Ar**s off for ten weeks!! and dont get into the final! because of sympathy or some other daft reason, then it is a joke.
