DMR ES10 Newbie porr picture help required

Hi having just purchased my new es10 im experiencing some poor picture quality. Ill do my best to explain......

I have a Thomson Sky box, when I watch Sky on my tv which is linked with a scart the picture is superb, this is without turning the es10 on.

If I turn the es10 on which is also receiving a feed from the sky box via a scart, the picture becomes (milky less sharp). I wondered if this was just the case when viewing but have found that it also records this poor quality.

The only way to enjoy good picture quality is to turn the es10 off reverting to just the tv receiving the sky signal.

I have spoke to the Panasonic help desk who suggested turning the rf output off on the es10, or the other suggestion was that perhaps im experiencing bleed with my scart cable .

I hope ive explained my problem and ask for your help...

Regards

I assume you are using the ES10 as a pass through for your Sky box. Have you set the AV2 to RGB/Video? So Sky box to AV2 on ES10 (set tp RGB/Video). ES10 to TV also with AV1 set to RGB. This should give the picture quality you need.

yes, make sure everything is set to rgb

Yes AV2 on es10 is set to RGB/Video still to check if AV1 on tv is set to RGB.

Also tried another fix found in an earlier post within this forum.

Sky TV scart -----------> es10 AV2

Instead of Sky Video scart ----------------> es10 AV2 as shown in es10 manual.

ES10 AV1 ---------------------> TV AV1

Sky Video scart --------------------> TV AV2

Quick check at lunchtime seems to suggest that picture quality has
improved.

Your thoughts on the above am I on the right track?

sorry forgot to say the reason this fix was given in the original post was that only the tv scart from the sky box feeds RGB and that the video scart doesn't.
