Is it just me or did anyone else notice that the opening shot of the cafe in Eastenders last night seemed to be a new cafe set? It was huge!

I always assumed, (though no idea why) that the cafe has about 6 seats, but I do know deep down that it wouldn't be viable with so few seats.

I might be wrong (where's Bronze Bully?) but it looked like they had extended the set.

Hmm... even the props in the background and the colours looked different to me. The counter seemed a whole new colour?

Instead of shooting towards the door, they shot from the phone box side which gave the cafe a different look. The director was Michael Owen Morris who is an old hand not new and artsy.

well i just watched both last night and tonights episodes. that set has definately got bigger over the years.....only two months ago i was surprise when they chose a different angle and a mysterious toilet appeared behind the food serving area. it certainly didnt exist in the days when it was "alis cafe" with the taxi service.

I also thought it has gotten bigger. Seemed to look newer as well. perhaps they did just do a shot that hasn't been used before.

Yer, it's been like that for many years, it's just that you very rarely see it as the camera always points from there. You probabibly noticed the toliet too (that nobody ever uses!)
