Is this the week for the bigest betting scam yet

Current Odds

- Alex 10/1
- Tim 1/50

There has been no movement in these odds since nominations were announced.

Betting on Percentage of votes for Tim have shown some movements. initially sporting index lowest percentage was 80% and less this has now dropped to 75% and less with odds of 7/4.

So far this season only evictions concerning Johney (Lee and Sophie) have gone with opening Favourites. Surely with Alex being up for eviction this week tactical voting will come into play, with Tim showing no sign of having any chance of making the last Three if he can survive this weeks voting, any one favouring any of the other three would be voting for Alex.

We have past the stage where we would vote someone in to keep entertainment value only i.e. Alison/Alex/Sandy, Spencer/Alex. This weeks vote is now very much part of the end game.

With such an apperant gap between Alex and Tim this week will the public save there Money and Votes till next week, making it easier to influence the Voting.

I bloody well hope so. Just imagine Alex's name being called instead of Tim's!! What a moment that would be.

No, I'm sure I wasn't the only punter who put money on Jade winning BB when she had 20:1 odds two weeks ago.

I think Alex is hoping and praying he is evicted. I know I would be if I were locked up with a bunch of house apes like Jonny, Kate and Jade.

Given the volume of votes, the influence of "professional betting" has maximum influence only in tight voting. Unlikely to affect this week's eviction; however possibly the final next week.
Don't forget a lot of "professional" bets have been placed earlier at reserved odds, eg. when Alex had (what now seems) outrageously generous odds of 50/1 in the second week. Jonny and Kate have both always been among the faves with fairly unattractive odds. Current odds among the three favourites are and will remain fairly close, so unlikely to appeal to any gamblers looking to make a fast buck now.

Just a thought about eviction polls. RI:SE has Alex at 30%, Tim 70%. The Irish presenter guy (sorry, forgot his name) expressed surprise at Alex's share. What can one infer from this? That Tim has a larger fanbase than thought?
I think not. The point about this eviction battle is it is not between pro-Alex vs. pro-Tim supporters. It is a battle between pro-Alex vs anti-Alex supporters (the latter an amalgamation of mostly pro-Jonny/Kate as this forum can testify). Hence the "surprisingly" high vote for Alex.

Next week's voting will be a different ball game though, as viewers will be asked to vote positively, not negatively, for a contestant. Tactical voting from supporters of the favourites will be rendered largely irrelevant, particularly when there is no clear out-and-out favourite.

I often wondered what would happen if people were asked to vote for who they don't want to win, rather than who they did. Surely Jonny and Alex would be flooded with calls from each other's fan bases, meaning neither of them would win (winner = one with the least votes). It'd mean someone like Tim or Jade being crowned the winner, as, although disliked a lot, they're mainly someone's "second-to-worst", and no one would think to vote for them.

I'd imagine betting scams would represent a rather low percentage of the voting. Maybe into tens of thousands but no more, if there is continual voting from any one number, they are verified and checked.

Ladbrokes not taking eviction bets

Just rang Ladbrokes to try and get a bet on Alex to be next evicted and they are only taking bets on overall winner.

When I tried yesterday, they said they would open the book today.

My guess is they want to follow the polls for longer before committing to odds.

It would seem stange the odds being quoted by eurobet and sportingodds (1/50 Tim and 10/1 Alex) Are so extreme compared to the RI:SE pole 70% - 30%.

Previously the odds have more reflected the RI:SE poles which have been reasonable accurate.

Would the bookmakers take a hit on this eviction, if the odds started comming closer would this encourage Alex voters to vote rather than holding back untill next week, to save a bigger hit if Alex went on to win.
