Does this service work in the UK?

And if so does it cost anything to use?

I am thinking of upgrading to a phone which has this service and was just wondering if it is actually any good?

For some reason text messaging never took off in the US to the extent it did in the UK.
But when push to talk was launched in the States last year, they went mad for it. Predictions were that we would follow the US when it was introduced here, but for some reason the phones seem to have appeared on the market here with very little publicity.
My new Sony's got it, but you have to search hard to find a mention of it in the manual or any of the retailer's specification tables.

You can use this on Orange, but only on certain handsets

Is Orange the only newtork in the UK to support it, I would be on Vodafone if I got this phone.

Also, does anyone know if it's free or not?

If It was free then would it not defeat the purpose of networks charging money for calls, and if it costs money then why would it be deveopled when a person could just call the other person?

Only Orange so far, Voda does not have it yet.

It uses GPRS, ie data call.

Thanks folks.

I got the phone anyway (Nokia 6230i) and am impressed with it anyway, even if the PTT doesn't work (which it doesn't). I read that Vodafone launched PTT in New Zealand, so maybe it will launch here one day too..
