"Well he has a nice personality but can he dance?"

Just to add my own tuppence to the furore over James shock entry into the semi-finals instead of expected exit. I have heard a lot of, quite frankly, guff about the show being about improvement, working hard, and the sheer entertainment value of watching those dance who are not so naturally gifted. All this is said in defence of James. Before folks attack me please bear in mind that I voted for James's Tango (after he was vigorously defended by CRH I might add), and his Paso Doble was a great performance.

BUT (and there always a but), if all those that say they are interested in week on week improvement, diligence, and the entertainment value of the not so talented dancers. Why did not they not vote for Will Thorp (not very gifted and struggling in nearly every dance) who did a scorching Tango 2 weeks ago while James did a poor Jive.

I am NOT telling you who to vote for but it appears to me that many of James's fans would vote for him if just decided to come on the dancefloor and flap his arms about or do a rousing Hokey Cokey. That's fine by me but at least ADMIT it's all about looks and personality and not a jot to do with how much he's improving.

I loved Will, he was brilliant. His Tango was his best routine, I was upset when he left. Bless Len's little message to him and Hanna, that was really sweet

Thanks princess_katy. My post isn't motivated out of hatred for James. If anything he has been man enough to accept his limitations. But for those to say it's about improvement and not competition when James himself in the early days of the SCD was competing against Darren Gough astounds me.
