shock news!

In a report published this morning it has been revealed that contestants in the popular *Big Brother* tv show may not be acting or behaving as they might in the *real* world.

The damning report goes on to suggest that contestants may even resort to saying things they don't really believe or think, in a desperate attempt to *fool* other contestants into liking them.

Channel 4 however denied that such tactics were in fact breaking any of the rules, pointing out that the very fact that contestants have to nominate fellow housemates, and yet be seen to be getting on with them, will inevitably lead to what appears to be two-faced behaviour, and cannot be avoided. The channel went on to deny rumours that they were in some way controlling what went on in the house.

An anonymous Big Brother fan has pointed out that contestant Jonny Regan has previously appeared in the likes of *Byker Grove*, and so has been *acting* all through the show, and therefore cheating. Again Channel 4 squirmed when we put this to them - *Jonny is simply playing up his better characteristics - making the most of his likeable northern accent, and general larking around. He's just trying to portray himself to the tv viewing public as a likeable Geordie. There is nothing in the rules to say he isn't allowed to do this. In fact, despite a lack of acting credentials with the other contestants, it doesn't mean they won't be applying similar tactics.*

The report concludes by pointing out that it is just a gameshow, and suggests that there is growing concern, not of the contestants psychological state, but that of text-alert obsessed fans of the show, who are redefining the definition of *obsession*.

hmm, well if some have been and IF Johnny is acting...........well wouldnt you have guessed, after watching the last two Big Brothers what public do and dont like?

Im sure everyone wants to be on, to have the public see them, to try and get famous, and to try and win...........naturally, BB1 being the first, everyone was themselves and it worked better.

If I was in there Id act an eejit with Johnny too...............thats me in real life.

The only reason we know about Jonny appearing in Byker Grove and the fact that he's got an Equity card is because he's been upfront about it in the house from the start.

Its not like he had this hidden agenda exculsively revealed by some Tabloid.

Can't people just lighten up?

Why does everyone here take everything so seriously?

Surely it's just a telly programme that's good for a laugh or falling asleep to.

You know, none of you actually 'know' any of the people in the house through what you have watched. I know you all like to think you know what's going on and how people really feel, but you don't.

And the half rate 'pschological' talk that seems to go on her, is an absolute joke. You don't know what you are talking about and you are getting so worked up.

Just chill. Switch off your TV and live.

PS: Iain... funny post... made funnier by the remarks that followed it.

I do actually - I should be glued to E4 24/7 observing every *Kate put slightly more salt on her chips than usual* revelation, and analysing how this affects the three-way Kate-Alex-Jade dichotomy, and how it relates to that incident three weeks ago when Jade said she thought chips was a tv show and how could you put salt on a tv show anyway......

Ok, bear with me. People who apply to go on BB are, on the whole, going to be okay with appearing on tv, yes? They're maybe even going to want to be on tv, agreed? Some might even want careers in tv (not actually an ambition punishable by death).

We watch BB to be entertained, yep? K & J are doing their best to entertain us.

We then slag them off for doing so.

Huh?

Call me thick, but I'm a little confused here.

Really? Fair dos on trying to pull a fast one but a spoof post needs to have a bit more verisimilitude in order to pass muster.

Maybe next time.
