Yet agan tonight Claudia mentioned Zoe had " very bad flu" if you can stand up you most definitely have not got the flu.
Colin and Erin were outstanding on Saturday night, is the BBC's golden girl getting worried!

I'd be worried too if i were in the bottom two. But I don't think she has anything to worry about. She'll probably be performing better next week and getting top marks again.

The big Zoe bashing week happened about three weeks ago....this week seems to be more James bashing and in between we have had Bill/Patsy and Dennis bashing.

You get used to it, even if you don't like it..which I don't. Hence the non bashing thread.

They all do great they are all doing their best and bugger if I could dance like they all do on a few hours practise a week and then shove myself out on national TV for everyone to see!

I say good luck to them all.

Yes! Claudia may have said Zoe had flu, but this is no need to do all the Zoe bashing. Zoe did not pin Claudia down and say "Oi mention that I had flu" If Claudia wanted to mention it then fair enough

Tomatoe/tomato, potatoe/potato. People call it different things. Zoe, Camilla (& James, or so she said) and Claudia have all claimed they had flu. They probably all had a cold. They probably all felt like crap. Let them call it chicken pox if they so choose.

It doesn't matter really, does it?

hehe! and what ever it was, She was obviously ill. and I can imagine that when trying to learn two new dances, not even feeling 90% well can effect you a lot. People feel worn out when they have a heavy cold just doing the normal everyday things. How many people here have tried learning two new dances when you feeling rough?

Isn't it usually guys who say they have flu when actually it is just a bad cold!!!

Instead of man-flu - perhaps Zoe had ladette-flu! She's clearly been to girly these past two weeks??

But yeah I say she is milking it!!

Ok, most people confuse a bad cold with flu - people who have actually had flu and been knocked out for a fortnight never do. It's not a crime. What is undeniable is that Zoe felt and looked absolutely awful.

How many of us could perform 2 high energy dance routines in front of 10 million people when we had a bad cold - you know how it feels, you ache, you have a low grade fever, your nose is constantly running, you feel shivery and it's difficult to concentrate.

I think we should all give the girl a break - she did well under the circumstances.

She'd looked rough in training and you could tell her eyes were heavy. The make up hid a multitude of sins, but she was obviously feeling pretty bad.

The flu thing is getting really boring now. let go guys, Zoe is not milking it. She did not ask Claudia to mention it, probably didnt know she was going to. Just like Bill didnt ask everyone to keep on about his foot.

Training for these events and now 2 dances a week is really hard. Some of you bashers should try it! Bet most of you cant dance anyway! Anyone who puts in these hours is to be supported not bashed at all the time. Of course we all have our faves but play the game and be sporting about the others.

Yet again tonight another new member joining in order to have a go at zoe

now call me cynical, but i'm sure this is not a true first post, and if it is, it is breaching many aspects of netiquette

i like zoe...a LOT
but i thought she was milking it a little too much - even she mentioned she was
and i think it perhaps meant she got less public votes coz generally people were just like oh come on stop mentioning it

Well call it flu or something else. I have a heavy cold this week and all I want to do is stay in bed. I don't, as I work but I certainly am not at full mental of physcial capacity.

Ask my boss!!

Might not be a good idea; bosses never seem to believe it when people are sick, but I'll believe you - does seem to be a definite bug going around at the moment.

There certainly is - I had it last week and felt yuk (and must confess to a certain amount of milking ) and even now can't bend down without a rush of 'something' to the head

Oh believe me, I'm one of those who went back to work 3 days after breaking her leg.

Know the feeling. I once wandered round with a cracked hip for 3 months because Queen Elizabeth Military thought it was a bruised base to my spine; they didn't bother to x-ray it & reasoned that it couldn't be anything serious as I'd walked there from the barracks.

I just get annoyed with people calling a cold flu full stop.

Apart from anything else if you have called in sick for 2 weeks because you really do have flu, then your boss (who has never had flu so doesn't know how bloody awful it is) watches SCD (for instance), sees Zoe dancing supposedly with flu, then he's going to think you're taking the piss isn't he?

Doesn't always work that way. Some folks just handle illness better than others.

Well, call me hard, but anyone who takes two weeks off with the flu (and I have actually had it) is taking the p***!

It does floor you admittedly, but certainly on the second week you should well on the mend, unless you have another more serious condition.

I agree. People do say "flu" when it may just be a bad cold, and Zoe did look awful.

However, I'm not sure it's so easy to tell colds from flu.

There's a tendency in these forums to count only rather extreme versions of health problems as real, and to suspect reality show contestants of exaggerating or milking or even faking.

If you look around on the web for information about flu symptoms, you'll often find tables or similar aids to distinguishing flu from colds; and indeed, in some cases it's fairly clear which illness someone has. But this is often qualified by saying it's about what usually happens. For example:

http://kidshealth.org/parent/general...u_vs_cold.html
If most of your answers fell into the first category, chances are that your child has the flu. If your answers usually belonged in the second category, it's most likely a cold. But don't be too quick to brush off your child's illness as just another cold. The important thing to remember is that flu symptoms can vary from child to child (and they can change as the illness progresses), so if you suspect the flu, call your child's doctor.
http://www.umm.edu/patiented/article...d_000094_2.htm
Differentiating between a cold and flu is often one of degree and may be difficult. Cold symptoms are nearly always milder than those of the flu. [ See Table Comparing Colds and Flus.]
http://www.cdc.gov/flu/about/qa/coldflu.htm
How can you tell the difference between a cold and the flu?
Because colds and flu share many symptoms, it can be difficult (or even impossible) to tell the difference between them based on symptoms alone. Special tests that usually must be done within the first few days of illness can be carried out, when needed to tell if a person has the flu.

What are the symptoms of the flu versus the symptoms of a cold?
In general, the flu is worse than the common cold, and symptoms such as fever, body aches, extreme tiredness, and dry cough are more common and intense. Colds are usually milder than the flu. People with colds are more likely to have a runny or stuffy nose. Colds generally do not result in serious health problems, such as pneumonia, bacterial infections, or hospitalizations.
