Panasonic ERS10 NTSC Video duplication problem
shindig
06-12-2005
When playing an NTSC video through the AV RGB scart of my TV it plays fine, but when I run the video through my Panasonic ERS 10 multiregion DVD recorder the image has a black bar and a section of film at the bottom of the screen as if the tracking is out or the video is starting to roll. However the image doesn ’ t roll and the video tracking will not rest the image. I have recorded one video like this and other than the bar appearing at the bottom of the screen everything else if fine. My PAL videos have all copied perfectly. If how ever when recording NTSC videos I set my Panny DVDR to NTSC the image sits on the screen perfectly; but it ’ s in black and white rather than colour. I have varied the screen setting from RGB to video to SVHS and it ’ s the same on all setting.

There must be a way to get around this. Any ideas?

Unlike Pioneer and Philips dvd recorders,Panasonic recorders will only record pure NTSC.
A UK VCR outputs NTSC as Pal 60,which a Panny will not record.
Way round it-get a Pioneer

Many thanks. So there really is now way around this then? If I set my TV to NTSC and the recorder I end up getting b&w. Would my friend's Sony be able to handle it?

You'll have to try it,but I'm pretty sure that Sony will not accept PAL 60 either.
But Philips and Pioneer do for sure
