Remember for the 15th anniversary there was votes of which old episode to show.

Now for the 20th BBC1 have not done the same thing.

Unfortunately I don't have Uk Gold to watch repeats so I hope they show some old ones soon

I doubt if they will to be honest, as UK Gold hold entire weekends of old episodes througout the year.

they done that a-z of EastEnders thing, that had a few clips.. But it would take too much time up. UKTV Gold was the best bet for those who has got it

The 20th anniversary was in February this year - Den Watts and Andy Hunter  died on that night. For the 21st, which I assume you're talking about, I hope they have a proper celebration for.

Like intosoap said, UK gold often have Eastenders weekends.
Usually they have a theme and show around 40 episodes over the weekend.

If that isn't good enough for you, they are hosted by the Squares own misery Mr Sqeal Beale.

Mr Watts Don't worry people tuned in for your death not Mr Hunters

The BBC made a bigger fuss over its 15th birthday than its 20th It would also be nice if they repeated the A to Z of EastEnders - it brought back so many memories...

EastEnders 1995/10 years had a massive BBC One celebration, including :

Classic EastEnders EVERY weekday morning on BBC One at 10 before Anne & Nick (starting from episode one & continuing for a good few months - most of 1985 was repeated)

Unforgetable EastEnders - Fridays at 8pm, for about 4 weeks, showing unforgetable classic episodes, which included Michelle & Den at the canal, Dot & Ethel's solo episode, Xmas 1986 & Michelle's wedding to Lofty.

EastEnders : 10 years in Albert Sq - documentary (30mins) looking at 10 years of EastEnders with clips/interviews etc.

Thats EastEnders : A special EastEnders themed edition of "Thats Showbusiness" hosted by Mike Smith with EastEnders cast as contestants.

And the 10 years book was released (Colin Brake) alongside the Den & Angie years video - the episode was celebrated with a birthday party for Ethel (even though in a classic episode she commented "Ethel May Skinner...after the month I was born") Though as we always knew, Ethel had birthday's whenever she wanted, bless!

-------------------------------------------------------------------------
For EastEnders 15, in 2000, we had :

The EastEnders Family Album : 2x episodes narrated by Linda Robson, looking at the families of Walford over 15 years.

Happy Birthday EastEnders : 5x one hour episodes every weekday morning during the birthday week celebrations, coming live from Albert Square. It looked back at then & now, and brought back some old faces, including Anna Wing, Peter Dean, John Altman, Ross Davidson, Shirley Cheriton, Paul J Medford & Gemma Bissix amongst others. Was hosted by Gaby Roslin & the vile talentless Jeremy Spake who showed himself up by not knowing EastEnders!!

A Question Of EastEnders : Same as a Question Of Sport, but EastEnders related, hosted by Gaby Roslin with team captains Wendy Richard & Adam Woodyatt.

EastEnders Bloomers : On Saturday, Wogan hosted some EastEnders bloomers, with guest Adam Woodyatt.

EastEnders Revealed : Special episode celebrating 15 years, including an interview with Dr Legg/Leonard Fenton.

Episode One : This went out on BBC Choice on the Thursday

Classic Episode voted for by viewers - Tiffany's death won

And the "Happy 15th Birthday" video was released alongside a special Radio Times EE magazine. The Birthday episode was an hour special, on Sunday, and featured an unexploded bomb being discovered in Victoria Rd, forcing Walford Residents to stay in the Queen Vic (where they just all happened to be) and reminise.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------
20th comiserations included a A-Z of EastEnders & a book - the "celebratory" episode had 2 deaths

SO.....what do you think they should do for the 21st??!!

My ideas are :

5x Mornings with EastEnders, live again from the set...hosted by Gaby Roslin & myself

The Ultimate Guide to Albert Square : Going around the streets/sets of Walford & remembering events & characters each place has - hosted by me

Yet Another Day : 20 years after "Just Another Day", which was a 1986 documentary on the people who make EastEnders, we return to Elstree for a day in the life of Eastenders 2006.

TOTP2 EastEnders Special : featuring the usual crooning suspects....Dobson, Berry, McCutcheon, Windsor, etc.

UK Gold returning to the beginning

The Godmother Who Created EastEnders : Special documentary on the excellent Julia Smith, nicknamed "The Godmother" - co-creator of EastEnders, who died in 1997. This would tell the story of the creation of EastEnders, and include interviews with Tony Holland, Michael Grade, Matthew Robinson, Simon May, Alan Jeapes, EastEnders original cast. This would be accompanied by 3 plaques, which should be put up on the Albert Sq lot out of camera view - or in Elstree, plaques in honour of Julia Smith & Tony Holland, and the late, great Keith Harris who designed & built Walford.

A host of new EE merchandise would be made available, from mouse mats to mugs & pens.

The DVD would be the top 20 episodes - one from each year, voted for via the website by viwers who have a choice of 5 from each year. DVD extras to include Civvy St, Dot Cotton Revealed, Children In Need sketches etc.

The Birthday episode, one hour, would feature Pauline & Dot having a night in, with visits from Pat, Ian, Sharon, which would eventually turn into a party, and a phonecall from Michelle. Would feature lots of flashbacks & memories and would end with the shock return of Kenny Beale!!

Any other ideas?!
