He's always really quick to point out that dancing is manly, and the celebs already have careers so they're not doing it to bump up their profiles too. I think he may have refused this year because he was worried about things like that.
I hope he does do it next year, he would be amazing, don't you think?”
Richard obviously loves the show and I think he would secretly love to do it - I reckon he would be quite good, too! Sure, he's got his R&J show to do, but surely he could take a couple of months out in order to do something as wonderfully exciting and refreshing as SCD!?? Judy obviously hasn't been asked - thank goodness!! She'd be awful!!! She's so nervy - she can barely sit on the R&J sofa without shaking and twiddling her necklace all the time. Perhaps she's threatened Richard with divorce if he DOES do the show because a) she couldn't cope with presenting the show with someone else and b) she's probably worried that Richard might "fall in love" with his dance partner! Have you noticed that every time Richard interviews an SCD couple, he asks that very question: "Did you fall in love with each other?" "You
MUST have fallen a little bit in love with each other??" He asked Jill and Darren last year, James and Camilla and Darren and Lilia. The man is obsessed!! Just because he and Judy fell in love with each other whilst being married to other people, he seems to think everyone else is at it!! Jill Halfpenny put him in his place, though, by replying "It was STRICTLY PROFESSIONAL, Richard!"
