I cannot believe any of the housemates are acting

It's impossible that any of the housemates are acting. They've been in there for weeks, they would not be able to keep it up. There are plenty of people around, like Jonny and Kate, who are natural "perfomers" and do show off and mess around, but we can't forget that we've also seen another side of them when they can be upset, angry or having a laugh with everyone.

Those of you who say they're false and playing up to the cameras: there are many people who are like that in real life with no cameras around. It's just their personality. It's up to you whether you like people like that or not, of course, but I don't think you can accuse them of being "false".

I think what you've got to remember as well is that it's a very false enviroment.

There's no TV, no radio, no games to play - they've basically got nothing to do all day, and so it's a bit silly to say that that's not what they'd be like in real life... No, they probably wouldn't - because they'd all be busy doing what they usually do in real life - watching TV, going to work, reading, writing etc etc...

When people try to get on with everyone and we say - they're just playing the game - how about... they're stuck in a house with these people who they may not be friends with in the outside world, but it makes it easier for them and the others living around them, for them to all just try to find some kind of common ground and get on.

This is something Kate said last night - She probably wouldn't have chosen the people she's left in there with as her last 5 (apart from Jonny), but she's trying to get on with people - Alex on the other hand makes it clear who he doesn't like and just stays away from them - People call him more genuine for that, but really he's just making it much harder for himself and others - in a way, it is he who is showing himself to be quite immature.

I agree with most of your post, Gazza, although I think Alex is having a hard time of it as some people aren't so naturally inclined to lark about and play games. He's had his moments in the past, so we know he's capable of it - but if he's feeling a bit down about the whole thing for now, why shouldn't he have a chance to spend some time by himself? I know I would.
