Oh it's all too much!

Just heard from the mailroom here at work that my Toppy has been delivered - now I have to wait until 5pm to get it off them, take it on the 45 minute drive home (bet it takes me more like 25 tonight...!) before I can play with it....oh the agony.....!!

Suffice it to say, i spent last night downloading and installing all the Topfield software, a load of other recommended apps, lining up some essential TAPs to stick in it, and even placing a USB cable between the computer and the space where my VCR used to be (it's now in the wheely bin).

So there's now a gap under my telly with a scart lead, power lead, USB cable, antenna and RF flylead, just waiting to recieve the goods. I literally can't wait. Talk about Xmas come early!

Forget about Taps for now, use your toppy in its standard configuration for a while, then start on the Taps once youve got used to it.

when forst got my toppy i put all the Taps i could fnd onto it, just to see what they did, and it resulted in confusion and chaos ( why is my toppy doing that??)
so i removed all the taps and used it in its plain state for a while.
then i started to find a few things that annoyed me.
the first thing was the info bar at the bottom of the screen, my previous STB the GDB2 showed now/next info, the Improbox Tap solved that ( and a few other issues)
then there was the fact that it sometimes missed the start and/or end of some recordings, this was fixed with Jags EPG.
The MP3 Jukebox tap added decent mp3 playback ( playslists etc)
and the surfer tap changed the useless ( in my opinion) Pip function into something worth using by adding now/next/later info for the Pip window, and the ability to set ( automaticly padded) recordings from the surfer tap,

but enough of that, the best option is to get used to the toppy as it is, and see what you think needs improving.
