I'm unsure what these unfounded attacks are that you speak of?
And as this is a thread asking if Darren is the only non-whinging celeb.I will defend these so called 'whinging" celebs. There is no need to talk about the Darren and lilia Thread as I have not posted in there.”
My problem is with the whole idea of a thread that is guaranteed to be inflamatory, just by its subject matter. It is just the same as I I had, purely hypothetically, opened a thread implying that Colin was cheating by doing most of his practicing in Cardiff (I stress that this is not an opinion, just an example). There would be guarenteed to be people who would take the bait & post an rebuttal of this statement, whilst others would post agreements & before know it we've got another of the many wasted, "I Hate So & So, Don't You?", type threads that are becoming more & more prevalent at the moment.
My only cause for disagreement with you was that your argument regarding the dance scores was flawed; something you've now corrected, & the fact that, being in a fairly similar age group to Darren; & having spent my formative years in a similar environment, I can actually understand the nature & origin of his remarks & respond to these two points; reasonably I should hope, below.
Northern working class lads; especially from an old mining town, are still expected to behave as if they wouldn't be seen dead doing anything so wimpish as eating quiche, let alone dancing. Their mates would never let them live it down, so they make a joke out of such things by feigning an exagerated reluctance to indulge in them/making it appear as if they are having to have their arms twisted up their back every step of the way.
(Also you must remember the tradition of referring to all southerners; be they English or Welsh, as soft jessies.)
That is what I mean by the reference to their sense of humour.
On the basis that you were referring to the V. waltz & not the foxtrot, fine, I concede that they looked disappointed with their score, but other couples have been allowed to be disappointed by the scores awarded. in comparisson to the judges comments; just the same as Erin was within her rights to question the judges actions, so others are entitled to look disappointed
