I heard a that Denise and Ian had been seeing each other during the last run of the show so that could be what was annoying him..... ?

Also just to add I was a Zoe/Ian fan now solely and Ian so unfortunatley my vote has been poached by Darren & Lillia.

LOL, maybe it wasn't a very good break up. But seriously I don't think they were, I don't know where they got those quotes from. The seemed close, but not in a dating sense.

But Ian is gay isn't he?

I thought that too? Although he could just be abit camp, I mean look at Will Thorpe! lol

When I first saw Will Thorp dance i thought "hello, Clary's back!" But he says everyone thinks he is gay. I thought Ian was last series and others on here have sort of confirmed it. Has anyone considered Bi-sexual? Even if he his straight I don't think he was dating Denise

Actually listening to Zoe, I find her quite self deprecating, very honest and likeable.

I do agree though, that after last night, she's unlikely to be offered any jobs as a chat show hostess!

I watched the interview and I wonder if we are perhaps over analysing every tiny little thing. All the contestants at this stage are under iimmense pressure - this week being worse than the final, I think. Nobody wants to go now.

Ok, so Zoe's a bit tiggerish at times but I didn't detect any real edge to Ian's reaction. If he was angry, he's way too professional to show it on live tv.

They have clearly danced very well together throughout the series. I've never doubted the strength of their relationship when I did wonder about Patsy and Anton's at times. I think we need to give them a break and look at what they produce on Saturday night.

I am in the unfortunate position of there being 2 couples I really don't want to lose on Saturday - Zoe and Ian and Darren and Lilia - and those same 2 couples are the most vulnerable IMO. That's not to say I have anything against the others, just that these are my favourites and I think the final would be poorer without them.

I always judge people by my own standards and I have to say, if I was Ian and if I was constantly being interrupted (6 times by my count) I would be p*ed off and would tell the other person to shut up so I can speak. Whether she intended it or not it was very very rude. She should be told. If she was a child I would allow her, but she is not.

Well said. Why is everyone nitpicking and being bitchy about Zoe.?
I was so annoyed about this thread this morning that I nearly missed my appointment.
I texted Ian on the way there and requested permission to speak to him. He tried to call me and I lost signal then I called him and got voice mail. Then he rang me back as I was in the ladies loo! How embarrasing, though I didnt tell him where i was!.
The point is I know him very well and he was talking to me not the cameras. So to end all this stupid debate, this is direct from Ian.

He and Zoe get on really well, right from the start. Like brother and sister. He thought last night was funny really, Zoe interupting him. He said Patsy did the same thing to Anton. He was NOT upset or annoyed about it. He was a bit taken aback by the Denise thing as he did not know it was coming. However Zoe played that really well by saying if you thought that was cruel then vote for us!
They are both very tired. and just for you sceptical and bitchy forum members Zoe WAS really ill last week.
Their dances are going really well. They have got a terrific Paso Doble and their Viennese Waltz is also going very well. They are putting everything into it this week. Ian was not upset because Zoe could not get serious about the music. Most of those clips are edited and out of context anyway.
They know they are under pressure because Zoe is the only female Celeb still in. The gbp seems to made up of women who want to swoon over the male celebs or men who want to swoon over the female pros, or who are chauvenistic about having a male winner. None of that has the slightest thing to do with dancing
He ended by saying thanks for the support darling, speak to you soon.

Thanks for that, ElizabethJo. I think they are definitely vulnerable, and it could go any way on Saturday. Colin and Erin are probably a shoo in for the final, but it's anyone's guess who is going home out of the other three.

I will feel desperately sorry for whoever goes home, to be honest. Getting knocked out in the semis is horrid.

Maybe we'll just have to hope that the plans being made on the Nobody Should Leave thread happen............

Well said ElizabethJo and I hope your post puts paid to all the speculation and disrespect that has been shown to these two in particular and the others in general.

Cant really dispute when it comes from the horses mouth. Hope you made sure he knew there is lots of support for them and we are rooting for them for Saturday and to get to the final.

I am becoming more and more aware of the Beebs editing tactics, and sometimes they spring stuff on the celebs or dancers to see how they react, not very fair in my book.

Also as has been said Ian is a complete gentleman and wouldnt dream of interrupting someone to get his oar in. No doubt people would also have complained if he had.

Hope we can just get on and enjoy whats left of the show and do away with all the sniping and bad feeling.

Hey what is it with the we hate Zoe and Ian, I tell you what if I had spent 12/14 weeks training a complete novice to dance and then watch her change her support to your main competitor just because she was at the same press conference as him, I would be pretty upset, espacaily this close to the final knowing the public vote is weak. I think some of you should be ashamed of yourselves, just put yourself in Ian's place.

There's hope for her yet; in respect of the chat show. After all, she could actually manage to turn her "ten to the dozen" talking ability into a comic element of the show, just like Jonathan Ross.

Seriously, not being nasty to her or calling her.

Has anybody considered that Ian may be suffering a bit of de ja vous after being in the bottom two last week, he may be worried that like him and Denise there was that lack of public support which caused them to be in the bottom two quite a bit.

It also may be just that this is their 12th week of training and all of the dancers have said this is the most trying time mentally -

Because, of course, they were complete strangers up to that point despite both winning gold medals in the Commonwealth Games on the same day in August 1994, both winning silver at the World Championships in Athens in 97, Colin winning gold and Denise silver in the World Championships in Seville in 99; both winning gold in the European Championships in 98...........

So then why in a earlier addition did Denise support Ian and Zoe, even though Tess aked her.

Tact, perhaps?

But not very tactful, to air your support when your former partner has had a pretty bad week and it's semi finals. thats not tact.

Well glad that has been sorted out. I know i am biased towards Ian but then I have cause to be.

I know there has been a lot of Zoe bashing elsewhere and if I can find it I will pitch in there as well.
I did tell him that there were nice people on the forums too. he said they dont read them, and they never read any of the negative comments anyway.

He knows he has a lot of support and I cant wait to see what he and Zoe have got for us on saturday.

Thanks for your comments Elizabethjo, sorry if you have been upset by comments about Ian and Zoe on this forum, understandable when you actually know him.

So good on you for supporting him and them, and I am looking forward to Saturday too but I may have to hide behind my hands at the results

Well said Stinkies Dad.

I think Ian took it surprisingly well considering they just sprang the clip on him.

We can only hope!!!
Under that self-deprication there's a hugely arogant ego waiting to pounce. Too smug for me!

I just want to say that I cant believe how bitchy everyone is being about Zoe! It's quite obvious that she is suffering by being the only woman left on the show. She and Ian have been consistently good throughout the competition. As for their relationship, they clearly, in my impression, have what looks to be one of the most genuine friendships on the show. I wonder how many of the "couples" really do stay friends afterwards. Don't forget when early on Zoe and Ian talked about having dinner with Norman and playing a few show tunes! There doesn't appear to be "passion" but that is surely because Ian is gay and Zoe is married? And Ian must be gay to have that hairdo...and before anyone calls me homophobic, I'm not I'm gay...and yes I do have a small passion for Mr Waite
