Will probably be Westlife/Diana Ross or some rushed out twaddle from the X-Factor winner. Or that JCB thing which everybody loves but me.

The Pogues feat. Kirsty Macoll deserve number 1, and I really hope they get it.
Not sure what there chances are though. Edit: ![]() Are they using Kirsty's vocals in the release? Click here This is going on about Kate Moss singing in a new recording of it

I'm not sure it will be- the X Factor Final is IIRC on December 17th- there's no way thewinner can record a song, have it mixed, press all the copies & deliver it to the shops by the 19th and it might the week beginning December 12th that's Xmas numer 1 week, I'm not 100% sure. Anyway, it doesn't seem possible, whichever week it is.

The X Factor winner is chosen on Saturday 17th and the single is being released on Wednesday 21st (all the finalists have already recorded singles). So the X Factor winner is at a 2 day disadvantage, but will probably still sell enough unfortunately. Then again, everybody thought that the Pop Idol Final 12 would be a dead cert for Xmas number one in 2003. Only got to number 5 |

Yeah but that was because the Pop Idol finalists released an album with the same song on it, like a month before they released the single. No one was gonna buy both the album and the single, a very stupid move by Simon Cowell.

My vote goes to the JCB song. I think it's a gloriously uplifting song. But FAIRYTALE OF NEW YORK is the best Xmas song ever.

It'll be either Westlife or The X-factor Winner seeing as each semi-finalist has already recorded it.

It's gotta be fairy tail of new york as that is a true xmas song, unlike the others. So it's monday 19th then. I thought so.

I hate that JCB song too.
Would love the Pogues to be number 1, always prefer a christmas song to be top of the charts. |

I really like Robbie williams new song, also girls aloud but I don't think either will get to xmas no.1. I wouldn't mind the the X-factor song to get to no.1 if Brenda releases it
I'm just hoping that its not westlife or the jcb song that make the top spot.

But what is The X Factor winners song going to be? Its two weeks to Christmas and nobody has heard the song that may be Xmas no 1. When has that ever happened? Also do we have to wait until 7pm on Xmas night to find out the Xmas no 1? If it is a new entry then most of Xmas Day the previous number one will apply!!

Didn't I hear somewhere that the Xmas number one would be announced a few hours early on the Christmas TOTP?
Not live obviously, they will probably record a few different endings, but that's what happened in 1994 (I think it was) when East 17 - Stay another day was Christmas #1 |
