I've become a total SCD forum addict in less than a week. I feel I know all the people I keep coming across but what happens after Dec 17th? Mass suicide, can we keep chatting elsewhere, or here, or do we sadly hang up our sparkly dresses/suits and return to the real world until the
next series?

Any help from old FMs would be a comfort

Don't forget wwe have the christmas special to look forward too!

I have my videos to keep me going, but I don't know if you've taped any. If you haven't, start now!

Come the new year I'm sure we'll all find something new to become obsessive about!

From past experience this forum is usually dead, bar the occasional tumbleweed, between the end of one series and the start of the next...

That must not happen!, I mean be serious: There are more than enough characters around these forums that we could always start up our own forums? Think of me as the bringer of ideas...

The forum will still be here.....it always is, as are all the forums in between reality shows. Look at the BB one...that is still going.

But it often does go dead...my first post here was in August and there were only three active threads!

So it is up to us to keep it going....just waffling, or talking about what the dancers and celebs are up to, etc. that is what the X factor and BB ones do during the months when it is not on.

So never fear...it will still be here...we just have to make sure we are too!

V reassured, thank you dear giver of comfort. We can reminisce about the 'old days' It will be like February at the shops when the seasonal /sales shoppers have all left and only the committed(or is that should be committed!) are left

I am working on this at the moment, although as I mentioned in another thread I have somehow managed to ban myself from my own forum when playing around with the moderator functions. Once it is up and running I will have to try and think of a way to let anyone who wants to join know about it without breaking any of DS's T&Cs

Hopefully it will return to its nice tranquil blue colour, and all the fanatic pink fluffy stuff will disappear, and some of the best posters might return to the forum. Well we can but hope!!

Oh Seymour. Please please please stop saying stuff like this. I know you don't like some of us..you are always saying it. We, the 'fanatics' have actually tried now to just keep the mad stuff to three threads to keep people who aren't happy happy, and I and others have apologised, and even left for a while...but nearly every other post you write says the same thing.

It is really really really getting me down. I am getting scared to post myself...and have never ever stopped anyone else posting. We have feelings too you know.

I am sorry to rant on on a subject I hoped was dead and buried...but this is really upsetting me. We try and call a truce and still this. A few posts today and yesterday have said the same thing. And I am sorry if I am ranting on the least offensive post...but this isn't the first you have made like this..and we all reach the end of our tether sometimes.

The best posters, as you call them, can still post here. On all but three random threads...which they are still welcome to post on if they so wished.

'We' (I hate that as there is no 'we' to me) have said this, apologised, left for a bit and contained ourselves to three threads pretty much. People have tried to make amends....make up, say they are sorry, encourage people to post who are not, and not keep bringing this up....but I am at a loss now.

And crystal tips wrote a lovely poem which I saw that you agreed with that I did too!

Apart from leave the forum full stop...which is not fair as this is a democratic society and everyone should feel free to post anywhere..this is a public forum....what else can we do?

Truely confused and bewildered.

I have to say that I agree with Boho (and not just because we're friends on the fluffy threads). There's room for everyone on this forum. The real world is made up of different personalities and so is Digital Spy. I hate to think that anyone feels they can't post on here because they find it too fluffy/fanatical/arguementive etc.

Anyone who hasn't seen Crystal Tips post, check it out, it sums up what I am trying to say in a far better way.

What about those of us who go dancing also talking about what is going on and where.

I'm with Boho and Shadow - there is room enough for everyone and all points of view in this forum. Crystal Tips has summed it up perfectly.

Camber, I'm probably more addicted to this forum than I am to the programme - I think it's great fun and very friendly, and most people have loved the colour change. Glad you have enjoyed your time on here.

It'd be great to keep up with what happens in the world of dancing. I have only started watching SCD this year so wasn't really aware of the dancing world before. I'm sure I am not the only one who has been inspired by the show and is thinking of learning to dance and get more involved. So anyone who is a dancer who can keep us newbies (and old pros) informed that'd be great. It'd be a shame to loose all the enthusiasm we have gained.

SCD is a great starting point but I am now aware there is much more out there to see and learn.

Oh dear Boho, you are so dramatic ! I have smacked my wrists several times!
I like Blue and Normal you like Pink and Fluffy , its hardly the end of the world is it? Majority rules and all that
claire2281

Normally I hate pink, but it's a ballroom dancing show for goodness sake. I mean, look at the set! Look at the book! The colour of this show is pink. I'm rather bewildered that the colour of the forum matters to anyone that much that they would bring it up in a post (irony noted!), even jokingly.

I love and adore this show and every year I become what some on here have refered to as a 'fanatic'. But believe it or not I'm a well adjusted human being who can tell fantasy from reality. I do not plan on stalking any of the dancers once the show is over, honest. I lead a full and varied life and have a good career. I don't deny I get emotionally involved in the show, but so what? I wouldn't enjoy it so much if I didn't! And quite frankly by this time of year I need a bit of something to get away from the world of stress that being a teacher is. I like to have a giggle about who is nice looking, get irate about the judges and speculate on how the dances are going to be. That variety is part of the appeal of the show.

No, I don't understand the entertainment some people find in baiting other forum members or bashing celebs/dancers excessively (and no Seymour that isn't directed at you), and it does annoy me when I see it. Seriously, does anyone know what the point is? What possible pleasure can be gained from it? Why would you bother? What are these people missing in their lives that they feel the need to try to be controversial or purposefully insult others to get a response? Would these people act like this in RL or do they just use the annonmity of the internet to be a sod? I honestly don't see the appeal in it myself. Maybe I'm just too nice (which is not something I have often been accused of!)

Why can't EVERYONE ('pink and fluffy' or 'blue and normal') just live and let live? Why worry what the others are doing to that extent? It's only an entertainment show after all!

*sits back and waits for a 'witty' response*

Have to say been out tonight and came back to discussion about the 'best' posters for goodness sake! Surely we can leave all that to the world out there, where we all live at least some of the time. Haven't been around here long but I felt it was a 'live and let live world,' the knights of the round table, where everyone is equal and can say what they feel(apart from Sir Anton who is better than everyone else of course)

The forums are a place where we can come & exchange opinions, views on aspects of the show & banter with other fans. The atmosphere is generally quite friendly & we do tend to all get along quite well; that's why it is so popular.

Whether the background, banners, headers & buttons are blue, pink or green with purple polka dots is irrelevant to what people have to say; however the change was agreed on following a suggstion in an earlier thread.

Oh. BTW fanatics are those who hold extreme views & attempt to force them upon others, not those who are in the habit of being something of a peacemaker & pragmatist in their statements.

Back to the original topic...

I joined this forum during the last series... after the series finished the forum fizzled out lots... but whenever there was news in the papers/on TV there'd be a fluttering of people to discuss what had been said - notably the Natasha/Brendan situation Then people started returning when news of Series 3 started appearing... basically when there's no news.. there's not much to talk about/discuss.. when there is news... people want to come and talk about it with other like-minded people.. at least I do

The forum doesn't disappear or become deleted anyway

And there will be another series of SDF during the summer to talk about too.

I really didn't get into that at first last time because I'm not a huge fan of 'modern' dance. Once they got onto to the proper week-by-week doing a more traditional dance stage I was hooked.

Back on subject, I'll probably continue to try to pop-in, just to see what's happening around here. If nothing else, the evident increase in the popularity of dancing & the dancers, means that the forums will give us a means of keeping abreast of such things as appearances & events we might like to go & see & keep in touch with the friends we've made over the last few months.

I think there must be another forum for SDF. We never discussed that last year in here I don't think; well only in part.
I'm not a fan of SDF at all. I tried to enjoy it but it didn't have the class that SCD has.
CAMBER

Was very anti SDF but got quite into it and loved the dancing. Not SCD though. I don't know why we can't have 2 SCD a year. There would be a decent interval between the two but not an unbearable interval like this.

I know exactly what you mean but that. I went right off it after the first episode (it was mainly the dancing styles which I thought lacked just that - any style!), and didn't catch it again until the last few weeks. It did improve a lot once they were doing 'proper' dancing as Len would call it. Danny and Jodie were very good.
