Vodafone GPRS cost
Does anybody know what the cost of data per KB or MB is when connecting to the internet via Vodafone GPRS from a laptop? Is it the same rate when browsing non-Vodafone Live! pages from a phone? (I am on a PAYG tariff)
I would have expected to find this on the Vodafone site, but can only find the rates for connecting from outside the UK. I've been unable to find a definitive answer anywhere else on the internet either. |

On contract it is £2.35 per meg. I THINK this is the same for PAYG
Vodahone live, through the WAP AP is free You will need to get inernet switched on for your phone and set up the correct access point. The good thing about vod, is that for contract customers their txt bundes are actually data bundles. so my 500 txt pack is actually the first £60 off my data bill. great for e-mail. |

Thanks for the replies.
I have the internet access working already from the laptop, it's just that money seemed to be disappearing from my credit rather quickly for not much return when I tried it out. It's useful, but something to be used only when necessary, I think. |

£2.35 per MB is still VERY expensive. I have only just realised how much it's going to cost browsing the odd webpage now and again, some pages with 100's of kb's of data on. Turning Images off in your mobile browser (Opera has this feature) is a good way to keep the data down.
