I wholeheartedly agree. Tim is trying to brainwash Alex into thinking he is perceived by the public the way Tim is. If Alex did walk, it would be Tim's fault. I can't stand the way Tim acted towards Jonny today and I am not even a Jonny fan.

Alex is remarkably easily influenced by so many people that I have to question whether he is such a big girls blouse or perhaps he is just as nasty as those trying to influence him. Lets face it, he doesnt seem to be able to be influenced by anyone's positive characteristics does he.

Have you considered as a reason the possilbility that he has been brought up to show a healthy respect for authority / "old" people, and to try listen to what others say before deciding your own viewpoint; eg. when Jade gossiped (I'm sick of the over-used word "bitch") to Alex about Spencer and PJ saying he licked their a*se, Alex's reply was simply, "I have listened to you Jade, I have" and then slept on it.

Easily influenced? I agree. Nasty? No - more like naive and affectionate over(?)-trusting of confident people who say nice things about him. This may be borne out of personal insecurity about being liked, due to being bullied and teased in school.

Alex, with his "eccentricities" and complex personality, would make a psychiatrist / psychotherapist's dream patient - I suspect Brett is enjoying himself.

Yes, I have considered it from various viewpoints. I myself was brought up with the old-fashioned values but that doesnt make you easily influenced. My gripe about Alex is not so much that he is easily influenced ( we all have our personality quirks) but rather that it is being used as a reason to feel sorry for Alex being so misunderstood etc. The one thing that stands out a mile with his being influenced by others is that he only seems to be influenced in a negative way.

Another great quote from Alex this afternoon when Jade said hse was okay if she fell on her bum during the skating task, to paraphase

Alex ' You'd be okay if you fell forward, you're like a Ford Focus with built in twin airbags!'

And I can see why he's a model, even if facially he isn't your type he wears clothes well, a true clothes house, he even suits that hideous blue 70s creation! And lets face it models have to wear some hideous creations these days!

He's loosened up, Kate is naturally drawn back to him when he's like that and Jonny gets all twitchy, great dynamic!

It's been disgusting the way all the anti-Alex people have jumped on him after he's had a bad couple of days.
They've all had bad days and low periods, it's part of the experience. I'm glad to see he's getting back to his normal self and hope he cruises through the last days.

Did you see alex on day 53 when kate walked out of the toilet she hit alex with a toilet roll on the side of the head it was a very funny moment.

Alex then proceeded to tickle kate it was hilarious, this was the funiest i have seen alex since he fell off the sofa "a la only fools and horses scene.

That was hysterical...one minute he was there then he just slid off!! I also laughed when Alex fell asleep on top of the fridge. And whan he gave his 'Alcohol is no friend of mine" speech while PJ was absolutley wetting himself as he listened in.

This is not true.
Adele suggested to Alex that he try to make more of an effort towards Kate because Adele felt that she was a nice girl.

Rightly or wrongly, Alex did make the effort, and they have been getting on quite well at times.

I find it hard to understand why Kate has nominated him for the last two weeks, because she must have realised HE was the one to approach her, settle the past differences, and that "tolerant" night they had a heart to heart.

I'm only guessing that she nominatd him because she is competing after all, and maybe saw him as the potential winner.

I don't think that many people have tried to influence him in positive ways, so he can't be blamed for that can he?

Curtaintwitcher, totally agree with your post. I had't though why Alex is so gullible and trusting and pleased to be complimented but I guess his having been bullied at school could well be why.

I am so glad he is back on form - when he is happy he is a joy to watch, when he is sad I just want to give him a cuddle. He is one of those people who inspires strong emotions in people. Thinking of Pop Idol he definitely has the "X" factor which makes people watch him - whether they like him or not.
