I'm coming to Amsteram for the weekend (daughter's school educational thing). and will therefore miss SCD. Obviously I'm recording it, but I was wondering if the BBC signal gets to Amsterdam? Would a hotel be likely to pick it up?

If the hotel has cable TV (which I suspect most hotels will), you should be able to watch BBC 1 and BBC 2, so I don't think you will have to go without your weekly fix!

If I had lived closer to Amsterdam, I would have invited you to come to my house to watch it! Could have been fun!

Sounds promising. Don't forget about the one-hour time difference though!! For instance, the UK 10 o'clock news is shown at 23:00 Dutch time!

I'm ashamed to say I would have completely forgotten that!! This means it's on a bit later, which is good news. Time for a quick dinner beforehand.

You will almost certainly have cable as living in next door Belgium & having visited Amsterdam several time, cable is the same as terrestrial TV as in just about everyone has it!

As many have mentioned, no problem if the hotel has normal cabel tv. BBC 1 and 2 can be watched.
And mind the time difference

I work in Amsterdam (wouldn't want to live here though!) and for the most part it's a great city with lots to see!

We live 25 minutes away from Amsterdam and we watch SCD and ITT every day!
So yes, a hotel with good cable television should definitely have it...

Not only does this hotel in Holland have BBC Cable, it even has free internet access. So I can watch SCD and catch up with the forums. Brilliant.
