I think this is related. I have had my Humax 26" LCD PVR TV for a few months now and have been very pleased with it in general. However, I have noticed several glitches with the PVR. One program I timer recorded from BBC4 had sound but no picture, just MHEG displayed on the screen. Also I find that reserved programs are not always recorded if I switch the TV off completely (i.e. still plugged in but switched off at the main button on the side). When I switch the TV on the reserved event setting in the record schedule is gone but there is no recorded program in the HDD. Is thia a glitch or normal? Does the TV need to be left in standby to record reserved programs?

I`ve just suffered from the same thing - lost all of my saved up recordings which I was keeping for a rainy day.
They aren`t appearing in the recorded programs list where they use to be. The HDD info shows that there is about 18GB of data used even though none of my previously recorded programs are listed. I`ve doubled checked that I`m not looking at the recorded radio program list. Box is in standby each night and I haven`t unplugged or moved the box since day 1. Its a real shame cos I`ve had no problems with my 9200 since I got it 3 weeks ago and have been very pleased with it. I did move to the latest firmware as soon as I picked up the box. Humax have replied telling me to format the box and that`ll fix my issue =( I hope that isn`t their response next time this happens cos if so it`ll be going straight back to John Lewis. |

I had the same problem yesterday. I turned it on in the afternoon and all my programmes were gone. The list was on Video, and I did try flicking to Radio, as I have one radio programme recorded, but it wouldn't even change to the radio list. The hard drive is about 60% full.
The only thing I can think of is that on Monday evening I was flicking through the channels between Space Cadets Live on E4, and the other channels. I also used Teletext on E4 a couple of times. Could channel hopping be a factor? It keeps clearing the buffer, maybe it deleted or corrupted the channel listing too? Anyway, I'm very annoyed, and I'll report it to Humax tomorrow. I have to get the info they need. |

I have a theory about whats causing the entire record list to be erased on the hardrive.
Or I should say corrupted since the free space is not returned without re formatting the drive. I assume after reading all the posts from many people who have had this fault, that it can not be a physical hardrive fault. Also power cuts / fluctuations, aerial signal and broadcasters transmitting bad code can also be excluded. The only conclusion is the software is wrong. We no the software is very similar to the PVR8000T, which originally had a 40GB hardrive and has been upgraded to 80GB. One of the downsides of this, is we have the 20 timer limit for example. Could it be when you use more than 80GB on the PVR9200T that the file address book goes crazy since it was designed for 80GB or below. Or could it be when you have more than so many programs? I think this fault is related to the ghost program list fault = when you delete programs and they re appear when you switch to standby and on again (but if you try to play them they are blank + the hardrive space meter recons they are taking up no space) = sometimes its impossible to get rid of them no matter how many times you delete them. I have just had an unconfirmed report that this ghost fault could be happening when the hardrive has only a few files on it / you are deleting the last 2 files on the hardrive. I have personally had non of these faults, but I hope I have given you all some ideas, please post if you can confirm or disprove any of my ideas. |

I’ve just switched my Humax on from standby, after getting home from work, and all my recordings have disappeared as well, all 65 of them! I’m not at all happy as there were many programs I still hadn’t watched.
New software PGXTF10001 Hardware PVR00T REV1.0 Loader version a 4.07 I’ll report it to Humax tomorrow but I doubt I’ll ever be able to get the programs back

...as last night I tried to play back an episode of Friends from E4 which I had recorded AFTER I had lost my recordings. But the box came up saying 'channel is scrambled' and when I press 'i' it listed the program as Harry Potter (not Friends) which was one of my lost programs! It wouldn`t play so I had lost Friends as well but was surprised to see the program titled being Harry Potter! I haven`t reformatted the box yet - got one more newly recorded program to watch - but it sounds like the box has certainly got its knickers in a twist and fingers crossed a format sorts it out. |

Same happened to me a couple of weeks ago.
I contacted Humax and got told to upgrade to the new s/w as this would fix it. I haven't done this yet, and seeing that andre is using the new s/w I can't believe it will correct it. My HD is reporting about 30GB of data |

Further info:
This morning I was watching a program I recorded last night. The recorded items list stated that the program length was 49 mins, but when it played it had a longer length - about 70 mins. The info bar came up with a program title for one of my lost recordings (which was probably about 70 mins long). Furthermore, the newly recorded program tried to play beyond 49 mins and the OSD stated 'program is scrambled'. I then played another program I recorded last night and saw the same behaviour - incorrect program title and length. I now believe that I am overwriting the missing programs - therefore will never get them back. |

one more thought (I will experiment tonight) - I wonder if I can record more progs and the used disc space remains the same as prior to recording - this would suggest that I am overwriting old data.

I too have had the "lost all my recordings fault".
For reference this is what happened... I had around 60 programmes recorded occupying about 120GBytes of the hard drive. The Humax was recording one programme while I watched a previously recorded programme. At the end of my watching the recorded programme I attempted to delete the programme when I received a "Disk Error - OK" alert. I clicked OK and and the PVR rebooted. When it had started up I noticed that the Humax was no longer recording. I checked the recording schedule which was complete with my schedules included a listing for the programme that it should have been recording now (it was about 15 minutes into an hour programme). I guessed that it would not start to record the remainder of this programme so I manually initiated a record of the remaining part. The next day when I called up the recorded programme list there were only two entries both from post the reboot the previous night. After checking a couple of things I tried a reset to factory defaults which did not recover the lost programmes. I then put the unit to standby and powered it off via the Humax switch on the back. After a while I powered the Humax up but this did not cure the fault either. After reading the other posts I guessed it was best to reformat and say "ho hum". I think the deleting a file while it was recording is significant though. I am not going to try it again that is for sure. BTW I am using the original software ie PGXTF10000. |

I also had this problem late last week. The recorded list was cleared but the HDD was still showing as 2/3rds full. New recordings would be added to the blank list but I could not access the old recordings. Powering off/on did not help. I ended up re-formatting the HDD.
I still using the original firmware and my unit came from the first batch that came to the UK. |

I have uploaded all of the Bleak House episodes and have converted them to AVIs (I needed the room on the 9200 and we have a Network Media Player so can play the AVIs directly)
If anyone who has lost their recordings of Bleak House would like copies, then please PM me. I know the copyright situation is a little dodgy, but as long as people destroy the discs after watching ... I also have some Romes, but probably not all as we got bored of it! Ian |

The amount of disc space shown as occupied is larger than the sizes shown for the programmes that are in the list so some (if not all) of the missing programmes are presumably still there.
I've got the new software installed and am not a happy bunny. I am e-mailing Humax direct with this and will post a copy of any reply that contains anything relevant about what they are doing about this problem. 1. Does Humax accept that the lost recordings problem exists? We are aware of this issue. 2. Has a cause for this problem been identified and, if so, is it believed to be hardware or software related? At the current time we believe that the problem is software related. 3. Has any way of recovering lost recordings been identified? We have tried on an other customers PVR to recover the material but this was not possible. 4. When do you expect to provide a fix for this problem and how will it be delivered? As yet we have not been able to recreate the problem, but we are continuing to test to see if we can recreate, then this will help us to resolve the problem. When a sllution is found it we be released as a software update (via our website and will be included in an OAD). ![]() It did occur to me after reporting the problem that I had been through my list of recordings and also my schedule making a lot of (at least 12) deletions and new entries shortly before I switched the 9200 off. Can anyone else who has had the lost recordings problem make a similar link? |
