Motorolla ROKR with iTunes

Does anyone know if you're able to use any of the songs you've downloaded into iTunes as either ringtones/message alerts etc? Thanks.

Why would anyone want this phone?

It looks bloody ugly, and its a Motorola!

Buy a phone with an MP3 player and transfer the songs from your PC. Job done, without all the gimmicky crap!

I totally agree! What is so good about iTunes that an MP3 player can't give you? There changing you for the name (iTunes) instead of the quality of the product!

Hi Kanso, I've managed to add songs from my iTunes library, but how do you set them as a ringtone? Thanks in advance for you help.

Hey Leeroy & Sean, I got this phone as it's a free upgrade. I've got a video iPod plus a nano and shuffle, so I REALLY didn't get it for the song playing capabilities.

You can only put 100 songs on the thing even if you place a huge memory card in it. Some copyright thing of Apple I persume??

hi sorry to be so long to get back but you cant use any of your itunes as ringtones or alerts ,but if you have musicmatch you can make your own mp3 ringtones or alerts, that is what we had to do

That seems a bit daft to me (no offense to anyone). I've got a Razr V3 and use PhoneTools to move music from my PC to the phone. Any of these can be set as ringtones or alerts so I don't see why the Rokr should be any different.

I believe that the Sony Ericsson Walkman phones are all compatible with iTunes and they seem to have done a better job of the whole music phone thing rather than taking an 18 month old phone and adding minor tweaks to get some bonus cash. I'd either get one of them or wait until Motorolla release a less botched iTunes model.
