Can I connect a PC monitor?
Will I be able to connect a standard LCD PC monitor (using DVI) to a Sky HD box to be able to view the service in the short-term (until I save up for a big display)?

The HD output was specced to be HDMI/HDCP or DVI/HDCP, so unless your monitor does High-Definition Content Protection or Sky have changed the specs of the boxes, probably not.
You can, apparently, connect via analogue component connectors to a monitor, although it is rumoured that this will be dropped in later revisions of the boxes as HDCP compliant devices become more readily available. I think this is one of the things that scuppered Microsoft Vista, as it also supports HDCP, so if you play a HD-DVD on Vista, your monitor may not play it as it does not support HDCP even though it can quite happily do the DVI bit. I suppose it's to stop pirates taking the digital output of the boxes and making copies. The digital age; it gives with one hand and takes with the other. |

Ahh but like all good things, and bad, it won't last. Bring on the Hi Def anarchy.
