I'm finding the 'outraged of digital spy' comments quite hilarious......after all this is supposed to be the media age, with a savvy media public......yet people are just falling for the wind-up comments to such a total extent.”

Yes, I am sure that Jmaes and Camilla are pi##ing themselves laughing tonight, a bit of character assination will go down lovely. Talking of media savy you would have thought that Arlene would have had some by now. Anyway I am off to wind my self up on a another topic, Nazi propagander just another media fad.

Spot(ster) the dimwit.

Arlene's comments were not meant as wind-ups.

They were heartfelt and coming from a supposedly impartial judge both inappropriate and uncalled for.

Agree with you lupe, there was no need to be so personal about it.

I think you may find that Fiona has already left the competition. So thanks for supporting children in need.
By the way I have had a coment about you pulled, I think they thought it may upset you.

Arlene went totally over the top this evening by making the remark that she did. She is supposed to be Professional. Roll on tomorrow night and my redial button for James and Camilla will be red hot!!!!!

Well I can assure you that whatever comment you may or may not have made about me, I certainly haven't reported anything.

I am aware I have a different view on tonight's programme, and Arlene's comments, to the majority posting tonight but I am perfectly happy to let others make their own comments.

This is a discussion forum??

Guys, I know I shouldn't get involved, but could we perhaps not get personal? Please? I know there is a consensus of opinion about Arlene's comments this evening, but spotster did really only state her (I'm assuming you're female spotster ) opinion that it differed... I think perhaps her way of stating her opinion can be umm fairly cutting at times and to beh honest, pretty inflammatory in this case, but it's probably fine to just say, 'well I don't agree' and leave it at that; it's a bit harsh to call anyone a dimwit, or tell them they're wrong.

My opinion on this issue is that it does seem a bit wrong that Arlene can voice such a strong opinion as an impartial judge on the programme. Something Brendan said the other day "I wish the judges would just point out some technical things and score them as opposed to just tell the fans what to do" - and that's what they should do. She is only human though and expressed what she thought; she's a strong woman and used to being successful in her very demanding and competitive field, plus she's been cast in a role as a bit of a harpy (and she's playing up to it).

It was a bit silly though because the collective backlash from Graham and Boyd left the ITT viewing public with an urge to feel very sorry for J&C before we;ve evenhad Saturday, so it will help them win more fans maybe?

I don't really mind to be honest, who stays in to the final, as long as I'm entertained and they are all really trying their best now!

How rude to be so personal - AND BEFORE YOU LOT TELL ME I SAID I WASNT POSTING HERE AGAIN just had to - is really off form to be so personal especially against such good views as spotster

Ha m'Lady - good evenin' to you. You didn't say anything except retort in your usual humourous manner I totally understand your indignation, Boyd was kinda patronising towards James' fans. (loving the loving the crumpet - did you hear Claudia say "I love crumpets")

i'm just wondering if the woman is sane or are her hormones playing up?

is she going through the change or something?

because i cant understand how someone can be so vindictive just because a celeb is still in who she so obviously hates

Sorry Bendy I have made the Pink and Fluffy remark to show I do not mean any hard feelings everyone has the right to argue. I wouldn't call someone a silly name. It's not personal it never is.

I state my opinion in the way I have stated my opinion on many, many message boards over many, many years. To you my opinion may appear 'fairly cutting', to me, I just say what I think.

I don't know why you think my view is 'pretty inflammatory' just because my view does not fit in with the 'majority' on this particular website.

All I have done is give my opinion.

Surely professionals train themselves to go out on the floor and turn it on, performaning the best they can no matter what else is going on?!

I don't find Erin moody. Competative as hell, and a bit bitchy in a teasiong sort of way, but not moody!!!

Arlene was repulsive to James though I want to give her a slap!!! Totally agree 100% with Brendan's comments yesterday. I wish they'd just comment on the dance, and not compared to the othere competitors. I fear James will be undermarked no matter how fabulous he is because the judges want him gone.

I see a repeat of Will's Tango scores. (ie. Marvellous score from Len, and crap ones from everyone else!)

I'm not criticising. I was actually defending your right to post - I know you don't need me or anyone else to defend you or anything, I just didn't like that you were called a dimwit.

In terms of saying your comment could be taken as 'cutting and pretty inflammatory', I was referring to this particular comment rather than generalising you as a poster (I hate generalisations), and I meant that your comment could be seen as being those things. To me inflammatory, means a comment that goes against the grain of opinion such as to provoke a response (just like inflammation in a pathology sense) - I'm not saying that's a good or bad thing.

Just wanted to respond to the point you raised above spotster

Spotster

Pull your neck in. Surely you realised that you would come in for flak by going against the general grain of the thread? You're quite free to do this, nobody can stop you having an opinion on the issue under discussion nor should you be subject to personal abuse for stating it.

However, do try to read the content & the sentiment of a post before getting in to defensive mode with the OP, could just save on misunderstandings all around.

I am not in a defensive mood at all. I am just merely giving my opinion which is different to that of other posters (but not all).

It rather seems to defeat the objective of having a message board if only one point of view is allowed.

I find Arlene's contributions to SCD and ITT hugely entertaining. I thought ITT tonight was one of the best priogrammes in the series so far - and it was one which I wasn't expecting to be so entertaining.

Hey spotster, did you read my response to your post? I did want to explain myself because I didn't mean for you to misunderstand me?

Okay, I'm going to stick my two penneth worth in here and say, remember the thread at the top of this forum from the mods. Especially the bit...

Subsequent discussion in the thread tends to discuss the rights and wrongs of the post, therefore going off-topic. As such, these sorts of posts are actually considered disruptive. They also contribute to an atmosphere where people are afraid to post lest they be leapt upon by 3 people telling them they've done something wrong.

This isn't directed at anyone in particular. Some of you might not agree with Spotster but he/she has a right to their opinion just like the rest of us.

I'm going to butt out now.
