What's he dancing to this week?

And I love the way on the BBC website they keep attributing a lot of these old swing/big band songs to Robbie Williams, like it's his version that made them famous

...and I assume it's Erin

Arlene has really rattled your cage tonight S_D ! I actually liked last weeks music have had real problems with some of the other weeks - and remember- I know they danced 'magically' (she says using that annoying child actors voice from add) but they did top the table last week possibly helped by James **** as someone called him!!

I know the James Blunt song is not the best but it did go well with the dance last week.
I think it is Erin that chooses the music because she does the choreography. (but don't quote me on it)

Erin must pick it. Can't say I'd disagree with her choice for the Jive, I rather like Footloose.

They are dancing to footloose for the Jive. That's aboslutely perfect and completely upbeat.

Thriller for the Paso was absolute pants though. And I completely hate that James Blunt song but it was a perfect choice for their Rumba. It was sooo suited to the dance. Maybe it was the band and singers version that made it sound so much better.

I will Always Love You? Was that him? I don't think of it as a waltz song, but maybe that's because I hate the song and don't want to think about it at all!!!! I guess Erin knows what she's doing though.

The song is in 4/4... So that's a start of it being a waltz.

Funnily enough, I wasn't so keen on the choice for the jive. The waltz music should have a beautiful flow to it though, perfect for wafting across the floor with a gentle rise and fall.

I remember last year some of the professionals went to a school and did a jive demo to Footloose. I bet it's gonna be great...so long as Colins knees hold up

Footloose always gets my feet tapping - should be great

Footloose is one of my favourites!

Footloose now only reminds me of Jodie and Danny's cringw worthy 'showdance' in SDF. I don't think the jive suits Colin or Erin very much.....

Well Erin is more of a stately dancer, than an energetic performer, so Colin needs to be energetic tomorrow night!

I don't know who picks Colin's music, but I'm beginning to think they've stolen my mp3 player to choose from ...... !

I was under the impression that the professional chooses the music?

I believe Erin has made some very brave and clever music selections for her and Colin's dances throughout this competition. They always go with the choreography and performance of the dance.

I agree that perhaps Thriller was an odd choice, but we all remember it and I can think of worse songs to do a Paso to (Brendan!!).

I think we should all trust and respect the professionals choices of music, they do after all know what they're doing!

I must agree that using Thriller for the Paso was a BIG mistake, but I can see nothing at all wrong with footloose, its upbeat and toetapping, just what a jive needs

That tune (footloose) suits Rock 'n Roll more though
I've danced both dances and they are totally different perhaps not so much in pace but in structure and steps. This music could confuse him in that.
I find it a bad choice.

Not quite what I said. I don't believe it was a mistake, it was just not an obvious choice of music!

I do believe however that Footloose is a cracking choice of music and I'm really looking forward to it.

doesn't Erin choose it? Isn't it part of the choreography?

Someone else commented that it was a pants choice and much as I love Colin and Erin the choice of music put me off that particular dance. For a great dance you need to feel the music, which is why Lilia and Darrens foxtrot scored so highly despite not being as technically sound as Colin and Erins previous weeks.

Agree about footloose though

What do you think about Whitney for C&E's waltz, I must say that at the moment I'm all that convinced
