I've been giving this a lot of thought because the notion of the phone lines being open all week and affecting the scores of individual couples before the dance competition actually begins, irritates me.
Bearing in mind that the revenue generated is for a eminently worthy cause, wouldn't it be a better idea all round to suggest to the BBC that the votes cast on Saturdays actually reflected the winners/losers on the night, and the votes cast during the week went toward the award of a trophy/prize to be given to the 'Peoples' Champions' at the end of the series?
