Hi All,

Has anyone had any luck with getting their Kameleon 6 remote control to control the functions of the Sony RDR-HXD910 PVR?

I have managed to get most of the functions to work using IR learning mode, but I cannot get the up, down, left, right and OK buttons to work - they always send the "up" function for some odd weird reason, regardless of what I do!

Any help would be appreciated!

It's possible to reprogramme many of the One For All remotes using the JP1 connector. AFAIR this includes the earlier Kameleon range, although I'm not sure about the newer ones.

You connect the remote to your PC with a special cable you either build yourself or purchase from a specialist for a few quid. You can then reprogramme your remote for almost any device. If you are lucky you will find an existing file for your HXD910 and can use that, otherwise you need to develop your own. A quick search turned up a file for an HX900, so that would probably make a good starting point.

If you are reasonably technically minded you'll probably spend a few days getting used to the tools etc, but once you are you can customise the remote to your hearts content.
