I think last nights events are all to do with Alex's feelings for kate. Very complex psychological goings on here really.
The 'Jade is a backstabber' thing is just a cover really, the Jade thing was put in the open a few weeks back by PJ., when ALL the hm's nominated her. Its water under the bridge.

I noticed the way Alex was looking at kate, whilst she was talking to him in the bedroom a couple of days ago. There was a close up of his face, and it gave away lots. His pupils were heavily dilited, eyes wide open, mouth slightly open, he was gazing at her so lovingly!.
The problem I think is that Alex is in love with kate and he doesnt realise it. all his behaviour has been projection, and denial. Jade is just the person caught up in the middle of all this.

Dunno about that one, but when talking about her after the disco he said "that was the Kate I saw on the poor side, sweet, funny, sexy, a girl I'd like to kiss and have kissed". As this went on, Kate mentioned to Jonny and Jade that he was desperate for female attention - she mentioned everything she did with him, sitting close to him, dancing etc... and how obvious it was that he's only happy when he's getting that attention - What I don't think she realises is that it's the attention from her he wants rather than her and Jade which is what she thought.

I think those psychologists maybe did have a point with Alex and his feelings for Kate. I can't believe they're very strong, but maybe more to do with the whole rejection thing - I think she hurt him a lot by not wanting to know him after the whole weegate thing, and ended up gettinv closer to Spencer, who was really the antithesis of everything he was about (dirty/clean)

Alex hates the fact that she has been so two faced and is there at the end - which is what surprises me about Alex supporters saying they would vote for her to win if he goes - he hates her more than anyone.

I think people may be reading more into the Alex/kate relationship than it merits. Has nobody snogged a person when they were drunk that they heartily disliked when they were sober.......I know i have.

I have to agree. . . I think most of the blokes in there will feel a growing attraction for Kate, lets face it they have been located in there for a while now with only Jade, Adele and Kate for feminine contact. . . . who would you choose ! !

I think Alex and Kate have a physical attraction and that's all, it's not love. Spencer the same with Kate, although I don't think Kate was his type but they would definately sh*g.

He certainly has far greater feelings for her than he's let on and her behaviour towards him the last couple of weeks has really affected his mood-swings (and affected how much time he therefore spends with poison Tim). Even when Adele was still in the house, on the poor side, you could Alex was becoming very attracted to Kate (and she a little to him too I thought, in that kind of becoming very aware of someone's presence kind of way - we've all been there, all been teenage!! Which is the level to which these relationships get dragged down in front of the cameras etc). I wondered if Adele was even 'encouraging' the attraction because it suited her ends in forging an ant-Jade alliance.

Alex's current depression stems from last Friday, the day after Jonny, PJ and TIM, subjected Kate to a grilling on 'Follow the Van' etc and went on about Spencer etc to ensure that Kate would know how she might be viewed by the public if she now flirted with her old enemy Alex. And it worked. Alex picked up on this INSTANTLY and got angry with Jonny and his friendship with Kate, and therefore the 'weakness' of Kate and her 'preference' for a scummy Northern club-singer (not MY opinion, Alex's I imagine!!) Her nominating him over Jade was the final straw. He genuinely fears Kate is an 'actor' - the most honest and outspoken Alex has been with ANYONE in BB3 was to Kate the night she was drunk and they played a bit and he got quite drunkenly pedantic. This says something. He wanted, in his childlike way, to tell her his soul, tell her everything, but she didn't respond as he hoped.

As soon as Kate is close to Alex he melts into warmth and happiness - a really nice, balanced guy actually. Then if she withdraws he becomes prickly, cold, wants to run away from looking rejected on national TV, thinks everyone's an actor out to get him, and talks to TIm.

And last night he was talking about getting close to Kate and then said something along the lines of "that prick is forever ****ing there!" refering to Jonny. He wasn't blatantly suggesting he was in the way for him and Kate to Tim, but it was quite obvious that that's what his thoughts were.

Indeed! Time and time again, Jonny intervenes to ensure Kate is not close to Alex (even using physical force, as well snide comments). If they did ever 'pair up', (unlikely in view of the circumstances so he's worrying needlessly), to Jonny's mind they would have presented a formidable bond/axis. But Jonny should be more sure of himself, because Kate is far too genuinely fond of him, and she would have persuaded Alex into HER way of thinking well before he had convinced her otherwise.

Finally, someone else has picked up on this!!! Here's my theory...

I think Kate herself has hit the nail on the head on several occasions without realising just how true her words rang. The first week in the house, it was clear that Alex found Kate very attracticve, a sentiment that she reciprocated initially. What was also clear was the Spencer also found her attractive and Alex was the first housemate to pick up on that. I distinctly remember Alex telling Sandy that "Spencer was hungry for Kate".

But even without Alex letting himself down with the whole weegate thing and putting everyone off him, Kate was always going to be drawn to Spencer. The week both he and Alex were up for eviction, she came into the diary room and said that they were both total opposites to each other and not only because of supposed hygiene issus. Their outlook on life, their attitudes and personalities are completely different. In a 'normal' situation, Kate would have gone for Alex over Spencer, without a shadow of a doubt. But for whatever reason, and there have been numerous theories, she and Spencer connected and it developed from there.

Alex's rejection was apparent when he told Spencer that Kate was always gagging for male attention and Spencer gave him the 'finger'. Out of all the housemates, it was clear that Spencer was the only one that could intimidate Alex and unfortunately for Alex it didn't work vive-versa. Watching Kate and Spencer getting closer and more intimate coupled with Jade's jealously (she so had a thing for Spencer as well) and Sandy's egging, Alex has openly disliked Kate and secretly pined for her.

What is happening now is where the Kate and Alex dynamic should have been in the first few weeks. A physical attraction that leads to some flirting and so on. Kate needs to feel wanted by men, and Alex was a her 'first choice' upon entering the house. Plus she still doesn't know where she stands with Spencer. But she's very clearly withdrawn from Alex because one
1) she's still very much into Spencer. I don't see her baking birthday cakes for any other previous housemate.
2)She realises that Alex isn't really what she finds attractive now. I think Kate has very much been affected by Spencer because he was so different to everything she usually finds attractive and Alex is painfully aware of this fact.

Mentally, he's kicking himself because he thinks he blew it with Kate the very first week. He may be right but I suspect Spencer and Kate would have been drawn to each other regardless.

Alex actually said that he thought Spencer was hungry for Kate very early on? That just reinforces the jealousy issue.

The Kate/Spencer thing I think came when Spencer finally came out of his shell and when he just said "I've slept with 4 women, I don't like to sleep about" - that was the night Kate confessed she thought he was great much to Sunita and Alisons agreement - Sunita then told Kate that you could tell he was into her, and than that was that.

You could always see the attraction between those two though - As soon as I saw them throwing that ball at each other and doing the kick boxing I said those two were after each other.

The key thing with Alex was that diary room confession about the women he wanted always being slightly out of his reach. I don't think it's really Kate, it's just the fact that a single girl got lost from his reach again.

I think its deeper than that though - I think he wants to get her as that's what he wanted that first week, and as it does, shit happens, and she ended up getting closer to the opposite of him (spanky) which just pissed him off even more. No, he doesn't have deep feelings for her, but I think he wants her for some other personal reasons which we've been given a taster of.

I think their is a very strong mutual attraction between Kate and Alex but the great stumbling block is how alike they are.

They both move in attractive circles and are used to being seen as the 'top dog' in their respective groups - a position they both enjoy with some trepidition as they both fear rejection as to be rejected on the grounds of attractiveness there is no come back, if it were terms of intellect they could reason their way out of it or form an opposing theory.

Because of this i think they have both gone in with a degree of reject the other first whilst that sits uncomfortably with their thoughts of 'well actually I like this person'

I suspect on the outside it would be very different. I cannot see Jonny and Kate forming a huge social bond as I suspect she would become very bored of the same mundane humour and socially interaction where the small group rules whereas in Alex and his lifestyle she would see the excitement of experiencing new situations and meeting very varied types of people.

She acknowledges that he's good looking but when she spoke about how she could never fancy him because of the way he his, his voice, the peeing the shower thing etc - I believed her, because thats exactly what I was expecting her to say if ever confronted about it.

I could be wrong, and she does like him like he clearly does her, but I don't see it happening. Waiting to be porven wrong though.

Yes..Im not sure about in the outside world how alex and kate would get on, but in the confines of the house I am certain he cares for kate a lot more than he wants to admit.
A lot of whats gone on during the whole time makes sense, if you look at it that way.
yes..the final straw for Alex, was knowing Kate nominated him instead of Jade. I really think his outburst last night was much more to do with his feelings for Kate, than any annoyance with Jade.

I think Tim is well aware of this as is Jonny and is a reason why Tim is so awful towards them both JEALOUSy!!!!!!!!!

If I remember correctly, when first in the house all the HMs were chatting on the sofa and Kate was asked "out of all the blokes here who do you fancy the most?" Her reply was Alex.

Since then Kate has continually said that the only person she has fancied was Spencer.

I had to laugh at alex just now singing - if you want it come and get it - while hes cooling off in the pool.

sure enough - kate gets in the pool - swiftly followed by jonny.
