i think its pathetic that people are blaming Andy just because Brenda left. Its hardly his fault the public didnt vote for her. If you want to blame someone blame yourself for not voting more!!

Good luck to Andy he deserves his place in the final

I do that myself and Andy has got a great voice. I must admit that Shayne sounded good tonight as well, I was quite surprised as I haven't rated him at all. I want to listen to the repeat tomorrow as I missed half of it.

What really annoys me is the inconsistency of the comments from the judges. It was fairly obvious to me back when we had Nicholas in the competition - they loved him even though his performances got steadily worse and worse. His flat singing wasn't mentioned until the week they decided they wanted him out.

Shayne and Journey South have received similar praise although their performances have been just as up and down as Andy's. I would say that Brenda is probably the one who hasn't really wobbled (although I wasn't madly keen on her version of Without You last night to be honest). I thought 'Let It Be' was terrible last night, as was 'Living on a Prayer' - yet all we've had is the judges saying "you deserve to be in the final blah blah blah". Same with Shayne - it'd be easier for me to list his good performances (and last night he was good), but every week he gets praised, even when he murdered "a meeeeeeeeeeelion love songs". That is what turns me against them, when actually , if their criticisms had been a little more objective, I would probably like both acts a hell of a lot more than I do.

I think Journey South have really deteriorated over the last couple of weeks - they were my favourites for a while but they seem to be coasting now. Shayne has improved a little but still needs some vocal training if he is going to be a great performer. Then again, I suppose things can be ironed out in a studio and he can mime on the kiddy shows so who cares!

Are people doing that? Blaming Andy because Brenda left? I can think of two people (myself included) who said they wouldn't vote for Andy because they thought he should have gone instead of Brenda, but that's just a heat of the moment reaction and in my case was tongue-in-cheek. No-one's actually blaming Andy any more than you'd blame a rice pudding because the lemon meringue pie was off the menu; it's just that if you'd been looking forward to lemon meringue pie and all you got offered was rice pudding, you'd be kinda diappointed, but I don't suppose you'd blame it personally on the rice pudding.

I hope that explains it. Do we do metaphor in the forums?

No he isn't always as consistently good as others,...but a lot depends on the choice of song.

When he gets the right song, he shines out for me.
He's good at what he does best.”

And he's best at Nat King Cole karoake

to say "im not voting for Andy because its his fault Brenda left!" is blaming him
Brenda fans are just coming across as very bitter.
It maybe tongue in cheek i dont know but if anyones to blame its her "fans" for not voting more for her

I liked Brenda but also Andy and it was so crap that we knew beforehand no matter what that one of the two would be going home regardless. That was so obvious and i was sad to see Brenda go. Andy's 2nd song was so amazing that i think he should sing that, or Greatest Love next week.

They're all doing karaoke kitten12.

It's the very nature of the show.

It's a basic requirement of the show that they sing as though it's a karaoke competition.

The judges only refer to an act as being karaoke if they're trying to talk them down and talk them out of the competition.
They never refer to acts that they want to keep in as karaoke.
But that's what they're ALL doing.

And good luck Andy and JS. :0”

Oh Boho, it's too exciting for words that for once the two best acts have made the final (oh, and Shayne too !).

Who would have thought all those weeks back it would come down to this?

I hope that one of them manages to overcome the blandness that is Shayne - for me the X Factor should be all about acts like Andy and JS. Shayne doesn't need this competation anywhere near as badly as JS or Andy.

I was really delighted when Andy made it through, I had been gearing myself up for disappointment all eveing, and was phoning for Andy like crazy in the hopes of seeing him through somehow!!

I think Andy is more popular than FM's on DS realise and he really does have a chance to win next week, (and so do JS, I hope!).
