hd ready 32" in currys

I was looking at one of these sets in currys i can,t recall the make sorry. but it said it was hd ready ect
this is what it had - hdtv in YPbPr res upto 720P @ 60HZ AND 1080i @ 60Hz
also d-sub/dvi-d upto 1024x768 @ 75hz

i haven,t a clue what all this means
please explain in plain english ime thick.
will this tv play the world cup in high def also will it play my son,s xbox 360 in high def

You'll be fine if it has the HD ready logo. The 360 needs a vga or Component input which this seems to have.

Of course the world cup might not be in HD but it looks promising

Ideally you'd want one with a HDMI socket but I think you can buy DVI-HDMI converters
