It's getting on for 1.9 million in the UK. Remember, the vast majority of these sales have accrued since May 2005 so a quite staggering amount to sell in such a short period of time, and from a standing start (unlike Coldplay who sold 700,000 in the first 2 weeks of release!). He looks like he's going to do the same thing in the US as well.

Second album? Who knows? I've heard a couple of new tracks and they are very good, but this is going to be a huge album to follow. I don't suppose he will need to do anything for the rest of his life now, if he didn't want...

He is starting to achieve great success in America and will be big over there in 2006. He has already sold almost 5 million copies worldwide with many more to come. His concerts for next year are all sold out too. He is definitely a love him/hate him singer but a great songwriter and musician at the same time.
I bought his album in December 2004 before he really hit big thanks to Youre Beautiful.

Don't you know what it means SGE? It means that he is conning everyone who thinks he can sing.

the exact figure is 1, 893, 400. So it will easily exceed 2M by the end of the year considering last week alone it sold 94, 964. Will also be the best selling album of the year ahead of coldplay, robbie and kaiser chiefs.

I don't think he's conning anyone, June. If they don't like his singing they don't buy the album . So far, it would appear that 1,893,400 DO like his singing. And that's only in this country. Like the previous poster stated, it's looking like he will be THE major break out artist in the US in 2006 (his album has been in the iTunes US top 10 for 2 weeks). Are you saying he's conned us all? Or is the real reason you are saying this that he's still in the top 10 albums chart 40 weeks after he first entered and nearly 2 million sales later whereas your favourite is, err, number 20 after, err, 3 weeks and has never sold any records in the US? He should get conning people, seems to work wonders....

I just wondered why you asked, that's all. You're Beautiful is quite a nice song but JB sings it atrociously - his diction is all over the place - what does he mean by "beautifol"?

And that is MY opinion. Nothing to do with any other singer.

I asked it because I genuinely had no idea what you meant! Fair enough, June, you are of course entirely entitled to your opinion. But at least he hasn't got one of those annoying lisps. And there seems to be loads of them about at the moment. I blame Cliff for starting that trend.

I'm a little worried about his next album, I just can't see how it'll be any better than Back To Bedlam. It's quite a challenge.

You've certainly shown your true colours.

Kill him until he's dead.

It's the only option left.

You know you've made it when ads like this appear on ebay:

annoying lisps
A lisp is something you cannot help as it is a physical thing. Diction is something which can be altered with a little training.

I am a Will fan too but I do find it annoying that some of his fans are very critical of any other male singer who poses a threat to him. Not necessarily on these boards I might add. James Blunt is an entirely different singer to Will and both are able to co-exist.

I'm so happy that there's only been one bid of 1.99. It's not like it's his muffin. I could easily nibble a muffin and pretend it's Madonna's.

And would Blunt be pleased to have the World know he couldn't finish a muffin that he'd started?

Well, in fairness to him, the album may have been released a year ago, but he never hit the big time for a fair few months after the album. My download of High was on 13//11/04, so he's been around a while. All his criticism is completely unjust IMO, especially given some other artists out there.

His criticism is not unjust, he still cannot pronounce his words correctly!

And I still don't like him!

Did you see the live concert on BBC1 last friday night? 2 performances in particular were just extraordinary, No Bravery and Goodbye My Lover. The emotion he put into those songs was simply unbelievable. People can slag him all they like, fact is that album is one of the finest debut albums I have ever heard, he ALWAYS takes time after his shows to meet his fans, is totally respectful of them, the bloke works his bloody socks off and totally deserves his enormous success. And judging by the strides he's taking in the US in the last couple of weeks, his success is just about to get even more enormous.

I saw parts. I thought Goodbye My Lover was wonderful, one of my favourite songs off the album, glad he's releasing it as a single. It's such a beautiful song. I was in France in October, and almost every where I went they were playing that song, he seems to be very popular over there too. I agree that it's a fantastic debut album. I like artists who make sure each song on the album is excellent rather than just filler songs.

I saw him on breakfast tv this morning. He said the album was 7 times platinum,
he's recording again in America in September and he started writing songs when he was 14.
