Not overly impressed.....but I think he is relatively charismatic and distinctive. I think he managed to get out of the clutches of Pop Idol and Simon Cowell, and thats helped him a lot. Still all kind of cheesey pop music, but not shamefully bad.

Which songs, because they could be covers or b-sides. Unless he specified that they were new than fair enough.

Got my dodgy cd off ebay this morning, 23 tracks of b-sides, rareties and live recordings. Nice album, some weird choices for songs but I like it.

Awww, not the same without the audio, is it? Looks like Blunt's management are clamping down on this sort of stuff. Could get interesting.

Sorry folks, legal threats mean the parodied version of the song is currently offline. The animation and tomato splatting are still available, and our version of the lyrics are online so you can all sing along (let's face it, you know the tune). We're lookling into it all and hope to have a soundtrack back online in the next few days. I'll get more information online shortly.

Surely the flash is covered under the fact that it is a parody?

Pretty sour of his record company/him if you ask me.

Back To Bedlam has entered the top 10 of the US Billlboard Official Album Chart this week - at number 9. It's all happened way quicker for him in the US than it did in the UK, that's for sure.

I must admit I find his success baffling. He does seem to be taking over the world!

I listened to his album when it first came out and quickly wrote him off because I just found it very average singer/songwriter fare with quite an irritating voice. I really didn't expect him to do so well, especially when there are so many better solo artists out there. I would recommend these if you're bored of Blunt:

Sufjan Stevens
Tom Mcrae
Patrick Wolf
David Kitt
Richard Hawley
Ray LaMontagne
M. Ward
Ron Sexsmith

etc. etc.

You're Beautiful also breaks into the Top 10 of the official Billboard Singles Chart - up from 15 to 8! Blimey.

For anyone who is interested, theres a live cd/extra tracks/dvd...thing coming out next month. CD-Wow have it for £11.99 including P&P: http://www9.cd-wow.com/detail_result...ct_code=262112

Fair price for whats included in my opinion. Wonder if its any coincidence that its out the day before Valentines day, what with "You're Beautiful" probably going to be played a fair bit round there.

Curious about the photo though, wonder if theres any more. The Photoshopper in me is intruiged.

It's the photo they used for his Saturday Night Live performance, and it's quite ridiculously photoshopped, isn't it?

Very good value for what you are getting with the live CD, as it includes a bonus DVD with the whole of the recent (superb) BBC live concert on it. The live CD stuff was captured from his Irish gigs.

More details here:

Special Features
Bonus DVD: (BBC Concert)
High (full band with 3 backing singers)
Billy (full band)
Wisemen (full band)
Goodbye My Lover (James solo on piano)
Tears And Rain (full band with 8 piece string section and backing singers)
Out Of My Mind (full band)
So Long, Jimmy (full band)
You're Beautiful (full band with 8 piece string section)
Cry (full band with 8 piece string section and backing singers)
Where Is My Mind?
No Bravery (James solo on piano with an electric violinist)

CD Track List

Hard to say how much this will sell, to be honest, but suspect it can't really fail at the moment.
