Hi guys,
I have managed to set up my Linksys pap2 ATA to receive icoming calls on line 1 and I make outgoing calls using Sipdiscount on line 2. Can I use a dialplan with this setup so I can dial out without having to dial 0044+area code before the main number. I am in Liverpool and all local numbers have to be dialled 0044151xxxxxxx. If a dialplan can be used where does it go in the Linksys configuration menu? I am new to voip and any help is much appreciated.

Thank you
Peter

I use:

(<0:0044>[1-8]xx.|<999:00441216874070>|<:0044121>[2-8]xxxxxx|<##:00>xx.)

The number after 999: (00441216874070) is our local police call centre, you should change this to 00441517096010 (Note neither are emergency numbers and shouldn't be relied upon for this).

Change 0044121 to 0044151

The <:0044151>[2-8]xxxxxx Will allow you to dial local numbers beginning with the digit 2 through to 8 which contains a further 6 digits (7 digits in total) without the need of any prefix.

The ## is used to dial internationally ie in place of 001 or 0036 etc you now need to dial ##1 or ##36

To enter the dial-plan, go into the PAP2 config page, select admin login, then switch to advanced view, choose the line number you want to enter the dial plan on, and near the bottom of the page is the dial-plan setting.

Bextech,

Thank you for your prompt response. I have edited your dialplan as you suggested and it works perfectly for my local number.
I cannot fault the Sipdiscount service - admitedly I have only used it for 2 weeks - what's your experience of it? Have you tried any other voip providers?

I've not had any problems with SIP Discount, been using them since they started a few months back, previously was using VoIP Buster until they dropped the free calls to UK landlines.

I use VoIP Cheap via their software, just for test purposes really, waiting for them to allow the use of an ATA on their service, as they offer for free (once in credit) an incoming number.

I use Sipgate, have a FWD number and have an Italian number and Romanian number via www.skypho.net, which I use via x-lite software.

I have for free a USA (Washington State) number attached to my Sipgate number (http://phone.ipkall.com/ipphone).

I do plan on setting a machine up Linux and running an Asterisk system, so I can have all the numbers / services running through my ATA.

I'd be interested to know how you get on with that - I'm looking at something similar so that I can hook my work phone network (accessible via a SIP server through the work VPN) onto the house phone.
