Just out of interest I have compiled the scores of the 3 finalists and anyone who thinks they would like to comment on them are welcome to do so :

Marks from week 1 onwards :

Zoe : 35, 32, 29, 36, 35, 36, 38, 32, 36, 36, 33 = 378
Colin : 32, 35, 26, 31, 32, 32, 34, 36, 37, 37, 30 = 362
Darren : 19, 30, 33, 34, 28, 30, 34, 30, 32, 35, 29 = 334

Average Mark first half of series :

Zoe : 33.4
Colin : 31.2
Darren : 28.8

Average Mark second half of series :

Zoe : 35.16
Colin : 34.33
Darren : 31.6

Colin on figures improved the most - though hardly anything in it.

Overall Average : Zoe 34.3 , Colin 32.9, Darren 30.36

As the title suggests (bearing in mind the judging) perhaps all of this should be taken with a large pinch of salt.

Personally, I am now off to lie in a darkened room until the final itself.

(Think I've become a little too addicted to these forums and am losing the plot !)

Can you please clarify some information (to explain that I'm not a complete anorak, I'm helping my daughter learn database/spreadsheets and we're using the stats from SCD)

Looking on the BBC SCD site, we took the figures from the Episode Trackers, they obviously can't add up. Can you confirm the scores for Colin in Weeks 2 and 3. Do you know what each judge gave.

Many, many thanks.

You are absolutely right Gritty.

They can't add up. (assuming it is the total that is wrong and not an individual score).

Afraid I don't know for sure but would guess the former. They have got the total wrong.

Yet another example of undermarking Colin !!!!!!!!

Ian and Victoria's website has all the judges scores from week 1 to last week (google for Ian Victoria):

Colin Week 2 (Quickstep): Craig 9, Arlene 9, Len 9, Bruno 9
Colin Week 3 (Tango): Craig 7, Arlene 5, Len 7, Bruno 7

The only alteration to your figures
Colin achieved 36 for his Quickstep (assume it was straight 9s).

We were right gritty the BBC website has got Colins totals wrong.

BLOODY HELL !!!!!!

Can I be bothered to change totals and figures

Guess I ought to seeing as I started this bloody thread, that no one seems bothered about anyway !

No sod it, you're right one point is neither here nor there.
(Unless your Bruno).

Lupe, you can be proud, my daughter has just spend 1/2 an hour playing with the figures. Working out how you came to your answers etc.

Too frightened to go into any of the other posts, so I'll hide it in here. The stats show that Bruno has not been under-marking Colin or Darren, compared with the other judges.

The major difference is in his marking Zoe where he consistently marks her higher than the other judges.

However you adjust the figures, including trying to take out the 'Bruno' effect, the judges have Zoe in front, very closely followed by Colin and then Darren.

Lupe, I have just seen this thread, and it's very interesting. Thanks for putting it all together for us. I'm going to go and stick them into a graph on my PC, because I like stuff like that.

Sorry I can't add any profound comments or analysis. I like looking at figures and graphs but am not so good at drawing conclusions from them.

But thanks for your hard work.

Here's that chart I was talking about drawing.

I don't know if it tells you anything though, except Darren was not good in week 1.

It's so purdy...I do like a good graph. Didnt realise Darren was so awful in Week One (didn't see it)!

Excellent work Lupe and Shadow 70

Being a maths graduate love all this stats. stuff.

I think the figures just show how the competitive edge of Colin has made him rise to the occasion.

Bit worried by Darren and Lilia as I want them to win but it's not looking good from the figures

Vote Darren and Lillia

PS Colin didn't look to impressed with the trophy on ITT, maybe he will give up after seeing what he could win

Hey that graph is great !

Quite clearly shows that up until his jive Colin/Erin were very much on an upward curve.

This is absolutely excellent. Shows that Zoe, even if she has been overmarked by Bruno, is still consistently the best performer. I am thoroughly torn between her and Darren. I love them both, and Colin is so good, too. It's good to see it all in black and white, but the heart still gets involved too

I would love to know the week on week viewer votes

I wanted Darren & Lilia to win, and a huge part of me still does. But after meeting Erin and Colin earlier, I wouldn't care if they beat them!

Has to be a lad though!

if you go there you will see that it is actually darren who has made the most improvement. you see this by looking at the gradients of the lines. zoe and colin are almost the same.

just to clarify my graph. i used the same data but made a scatter plot with a line to show the regression and overlaid all three on the same graph.

Showing off are we?

(Only joking)

Quite illuminating that. Thanks.

don't worry i wouldn't have taken it personally anyway. it was quite fun really. i only just learnt how to use the software program thingy for it for uni so it was fun to see if i could do it (took me a few goes to get it right ). i have to say i wasnt expecting such a steep gradient for darren.

Must admit, HANN4H , thats very impressive stuff, even though it doesn't give the result I wanted.

Am I right in thinking that the steep gradient is caused by Darren's Week One results.
The rest of the weeks are all very similiar (the same for all three finalists)
HANN4H

youre right gritty i guess it could be the week one results doing that. i didn't really notice them all the way down there

ooh i did it again without week one and darrens line is actually almost staright across. ill post it in a min.
