Salsa Training (Transcript)
Will sits with Hanna. He nervously anticipates the lesson he is about to undertake ...
Will: This Salsa lesson is my dancing nightmare. Me in a room with loads of other people who are better. And I'm stood by myself not getting it at all.
Cut to the celebrities and professionals, gathered in a crowded dance studio. Pete "Conde" Rodriguez's "I Like it (Like that) plays softly in the background. Suddenly, a stern voice enforces order. It belongs to Chris Marquez, Official World Salsa Champion
Chris: Alright people? No kidding around, yeah? We're not gonna have time to do everything today otherwise, yeah? So everyone really focus.
Chris indicates his dance partner, Jaclyn Spencer
Chris: I'm looking for this: 5, 6, 7, Go ... Shake. Shake. Shake. Shake. Shake. Shake. Shake.
While Chris speaks, Jaclyn shakes as if her life depended on it, rattling her accoutrements as she goes.
The girls test their body isolation shaking skills.
Patsy: (Grimacing visibly) I can't do it!
Zoe: Slightly concerned about the shaking thing.
She floats around in a circle with her cheeks puffed out.
Patsy: (Overcome by hysterics) I look like a chimpanzee!
Karen: (Mournfully) My partner's not here. I'm all alone! *Sniffs*
She dances alone rubbing the mock tears out of her eyes.
Colin: My first impressions of Salsa is that it's extremely difficult. I couldn't even get the - I couldn't even get the beginning! What's this? I forgot! Side to side?
Erin: (To Colin) Side and together.
Zoe: Anton's putting me off cos he's next to me.
Chris: Anton! If you're not where you're meant to be ... I will kill you ...
Anton: (He'll have to) stand on a box.
Patsy melts into laughter.
Will: This is hell for me. This is as bad as it gets, as far as I'm concerned. Just mentally dealing with this situation (Starts chuckling).
Chris lays down the law once more.
Chris: No mucking about!
James: He's like a little Gordon Ramsey, isn't he?
Chris: Okay? I said okay?
James: Yes ... (He pauses momentarily) Chef.
There is a ripple of laughter.
Darren: It's gonna be a laff, I think the audience will laff. And the audience'll luv it.
The group assemble for their big finish, when suddenly Darren collapses upon an unsuspecting Ian ...
Ian: (Laughing) Oh, sorry!
