I have just got a Moto E550. It's a very nice phone, but I have noticed a very odd problem. I was staying away and happened to have the phone by my bed, and noticed that the backlight had come on (you can see it as a faint glowing line), even though the clamshell was closed.

It stayed on for many minutes until I opened and closed the unit. Since then I've kept the phone next to me at night, and on several occasions the light has been on when I woke up.

I've checked the phone during the day, but have never seen the problem manifest itself then.

I'd be interested to know if anyone else has ever noticed this effect with a 'closeable' phone.

Edit: I should add that when I have noticed this effect, the keyboard lighting is not on.
