TVs with Hyperband/Satellite tuning??
For as long as I can remember, the technical specs for TVs has always listed Hyperband and Satellite channel coverage along with UHF channel coverage. For example:
Channel Coverage CATV: S1-S20 Channel Coverage HYPER / Satellite: S21-S41 Is this actually relevant to us in the UK? What does it mean? What are these channels and how could I get them? |

In the UK it's not really relevent nowdays
Hyperband is the bit between VHF Band III and UHF Band IV, on old analogue cable boxes with cable pass through the Hyperband tuner would allow you to tune to the FTA stations - on Cable North West these included Five, TV Travel Shop and BBC News 24 (as well as the usual 4 and QVC in UHF). On NTL Nottingham an Hyperband TV used to get you (in addition to BBC ONE EM, BBC ONE Yorks, BBC TWO, Carlton, Yorkshire TV, Channel 4 and Five) Sky Sports 3, Front Row Channel 50, BBC News 24, BBC Radio Nottingham, NTL Guest Channel, QVC, a music channel (The Box?) and a few others I can't remember |
