Should I get Motorola V3x or V3i
Good afternoon to you all.
Ok, lets not get into the " I would never buy Motorola crappy phones " etc. I have had a few of them, and personally they have never given me any problems. For the last year I have had the Moto V3. It has never given me any real problems. It is coming up to the end of the 12 months, and I am looking at replacing with either the V3x or V3i. I know the V3x is slightly larger, and it is also 3G, however what are the other main differences between to two, and which do you think is the better option. I have been on O2 for years (again no problems), and according to their website the V3x is arriving December & the V3i is arriving January. Many thanks for any help. Regards James |

I faced this same choice and decided the V3X was the better phone, but I can't really remember why now - it was a definite preference for the X version though.
I got too impatient and peed off with my 3 contract so in the end I couldn't stand the wait any longer and went for a V3 pink with video recorder, but also on O2. Apparently the V3x will be available from 16 Dec on the 3 network (don't touch em!) so shouldn't be too long behind on the others. |

I called 02 about 5 mins ago, and they have said that the V3x is on sale from Monday 20th December.
I am confused about this 3 business. It is on the 02 network. Am I on the 02 network when I make normal voice calls (no problem where I live), and then does it convert to some 3 network when/if I choose to use the 3G functions. If the V3i has video record & playback, I would be tempted to go for that. The V3x is the 3G phone (video calling etc.), the V3i is 2G.
If you sign up to O2 you will not be switched to 3 for anything at all. O2 deliver 3G network capabilities along the same lines as 3, Orange and all the others. V3x is available on O2 from 20th December apparently (according to another thread). |

I guess the V3x has bundles of features, and looks good as well. I have found a good site with comprehensive review of V3x, however cannot find one for the V3i. Regards James |

I would go for the V3x on one of 02's £35 3G tariffs.
1000 X/Net mins and 150 texts or 750 X/Net mins and 750 texts and you can use all your voice minutes as videocalling time (if you know lots of folks with 3G handsets). 02 have their own 3G network and it seamlessly switches from GSM and back as required unlike 3 UK's which has to drop calls and reregister users onto a roaming network. |

I have decided to go for the V3x. I rang the O2 upgrade dept earlier, and they said that it should be going on the website either Monday or Tuesday. The CS chap also looked at my account and mentioned that considering the amount I have spent each month, for the last 5 months, I will be eligeable to have it on a free upgrade Regards James |

I assume by 3G tariff you mean the o2 500 plan. All current o2 tariffs support 3G.
O2 500 (I-mode tariff as its known) is not available for much longer, but is a cracking plan. Basic mins is 500. Though new customers are getting it doubled on the 12 month deals to 1k mins. The o2 500 is technically for new customers only, and only for I-Mode / 3G handsets. Though a word in the persons shell might help you out with that one

Check out this link for 02's best value 3G tariffs.
1000 X/Net mins and 150 texts or 750 X/Net mins and 750 texts and you can use all your voice minutes as videocalls (on-going promotion) for £35/mth. http://shop.o2.co.uk/shop/o2uk/jsp/h...s/3GPhones.jsp |
