Have just ordered one to replace my clapped Philips DVDR70 which is going back to Amazon for a full refund! Any comments? Please be kind.

Easy to use, Easy to set up, Good quality recordings. Mine is connected to a sony 5.1 & DTS surround sound system and the film watching experience is brilliant. I'm using + R and + RW format disks and they work in my PC and other DVD players in the house. ENJOY.

Just saw your reply-thanks. I'm just having to adjust my thinking processes from DVDR70 to the Sony but all seems to be as you say. (Why can't these manufacturers produce some commonality?)
I've just put up a new post on using my PC as a Monitor. Any comments?
