Yes, i know the Jane MacDonald suggestion was instead of Tess and not Bruce - that was what made me laugh. I don't think Tess looks uncomfortable at all. She plays the disapproving, enthusiastic side-kick excellently. Jane MacDonald is far too tacky for the show.
Another gripe of mine had just been mentioned. People who say Brucie thinks he is the star of the show. Well, you know, he IS the biggest name on the show and he IS the main presenter. Thats two factors which, whether Brucie attempts to hog the limelight or not, automatically makes him the first point of focus for the show. Apart from occasionally talking over the judges, he does NOTHING which implies that he thinks the programme is all about him! This is an insane argument. He opens the show briefly and efficiently, he chairs the interaction between the judges and contestants and the links between VT clips. All these things need done, HENCE why TV shows bother having presenters in the first place.
Strictly Come Dancing isn't some mechanical dancing competition. Its a fully rounded light entertainment show first and foremost. The variety elements are much needed and the rickety sense of fun is it's trump card. Brucie gives us that and everyone in my house loves him for it.
I'm prepared to agree to disagree. Although i shall reiterate how glad I am that some of you lot aren't TV executives.
