I don't watch this much, but I think Brucie is a part of the show. They chose him because of his tap-dancing skills I think, so has some connection to dancing.

When did that happen? Admittedly, Tess looks gorgeous, but I haven't seen any programme that she has been involved in where she seems comfortable and at ease. I'm still trying to work out how she got into television in the first place.

Glad you admit that Tess is gorgeous. On that score alone, she deserves to be there rather than frumpy Jane!!! Furthermore, Jane would want to take over and inflict her wretched singing on us every week, just like she did on a number of occasions when she presented "Loose Women"! She sang her awful cover version of Sandi Shaw's number "Always Something There To Remind Me", which droned on and on and on....she would kill SCD's viewing numbers!!
Anyway, Tess' job isn't up for grabs. It's hers, she's enjoying it and delighting audiences, so leave her alone!

Erm not sure i agree with you, surely if he was really good, it wouldn't seem like waffling and faffing to the viewer - which it does........I reckon Des Lynham is the master of it myself.....

Many younger presenters could learn so much from the master who has, throughout his career, been a part of shows where he could confidently say as he does each week on SCD, "Good evening Ladies, Gentlemen and Children," knowing that all generations can watch and enjoy the show together.

Here is a multi talented entertainer who can sing, dance, act, make you laugh, and who has had mega hit, rating topping TV shows in the 60's, 70's, 80's 90's and 00's, yet all he has is the OBE.

Any of the modern popular presenters would be left a dribbling wreck by what Bruce does on SCD.
It's good to see all this support Bruce. I think he did a fantastic job on Saturday night and that song and dance routine was just superb!
I seem to remember that Bruce was given a new two-year contract with the BBC in May 2004. Can we bank on the fact that he will be back on the ballroom floor next year? An article in SAGA magazine suggests he has no desire to stop...

Brucie is the reason I watch, did you all see the children on ITT talking about how nice and funny he is? They can spot a true gent and lovely man. Let him stay!
Bruce is all right: the best or least worse choice at present. I'd like to see him liberated as much as possible from the autocue, as he's much sharper living on his wits and adlibbing. Some bits need timing, but there's much that he can be left to deal with as he used to do on earlier shows such as Sunday Night at the Palladium. The show does have a great demographic range, if you will excuse the tellyspeak, and a younger presenter would ruin that.

I love his corny jokes, he's cheeky without having to sink to vulgarity unlike many of the other presenters around today. True quality Saturday night entertainment.
For those who complain about Bruce they have no idea how difficult it is to host a live show with viewers of all ages.
Being a great host one would never try to look smart and clever but to make everyone at ease. It creates the atmophere which is the main thing. That's the reason why Bruce always have those jokes which he knows very well they weren't good, but doesn't it make him more approachable to all ages? Didn't it brought smile to everyone's face? Didn't he make the contestants' life easier to have a little laugh before their dance? Didn't his 'you're my favorite' makes everyone less tense after their dances?

of course the majority pf people don't know how difficult it is to host a live show but I dont think Bruce does a good job at all.
I don't like his jokes at all, and fully appreciate that its not a stand up show, so why attempt to tell lots of jokes? why not just do normal links between each dance. I found Graham Norton was much much better presenting Strictly Dance Fever, and he told very few jokes if my memory serves me right...and I think he did and excellent job of it.
The thing that irritates me perhaps the most is, espcially at the start of series' where there is more dancers, Bruce rushes the couple over, rushes the judges, says we haven't got much time etc etc, doesn't ask all of them their opinions, and when they are speaking he constantly adds his own thoughts on their dancing...like good choreography etc as if he is as knowledgeable as the judges are, and when he finally rushes the couple off the dance floor he spends 5 minutes tap dancing and telling his hilarious jokes, i don't see the sense in it!

I couldn't have said it better myself! The sad thing or the most annoying fact is that I have to endure another year of Bruce's embarrassing display of hosting which kind of spoils the overall joy of the show for me.
I'm hoping next time the producers attach some electronic tag on his mouth so they can alert it when he starts his diatribe.
