Jaco Pastorius played bass on four of Joni Mitchell's albums - Hejira (my favourite Joni album!), Don Juan's Reckless Daughter, Mingus and Shadows and Light.

Well done to snax and SGE by the way.

Joni Mitchell's lead guitarist during the mid-70s, Larry Carlton, also played with Steely Dan.

One of the most underrated drummers EVER, Steve Gadd, played an incredible selection of beats on Steel Dan's opus, AJA (check out the title track for some of the best drumming you will EVER hear....IMHO!)

Scroll down to the bit that says Aja and 'Listen'. Click on it and listen to almost 8 mins of aural orgasm (but the REAL drumming virtuosity is in the last few minutes - worth waiting for, even on a Saturday night. LOL!)

Steve Gadd has performed with Paul Simon
(I thought I'd jump in before anyone is tempted to
do a GGlitter link )

Paul Simon's most famous partnership has been with his lifelong friend Art Garfunkel. They gave a free concert at the Coliseum in Rome - before an audience of 600,000 - as the culmination of their international reunion tour in 2004. It was their first performance together in Italy.

But let's avoid predictability! Paul Simon has also collaborated with Carole King. They recorded several unreleased demos together as a duo called 'The Cosines' in the early 60s.

Carole King co-wrote 'The Locomotion,' which was a hit for Kylie Minogue, amongst others.

Dannii Minogue is Australian, and so is Nick Cave.

Nick Cave's band are the Bad Seeds - The Lightning Seeds was a "band" created by Ian Broudie.

Steve Severin, founding member of the Banshees, took the name 'Severin' from the Velvet Underground song 'Venus In Furs'.

One of the Goss twins was in Hell's Kitchen. Shack did a song ("Lend's some dough") with the line "I got to get out the kitchen".

Shack are supporting Oasis at the 2 Sheffield gigs in February. (although most people would have preffered Arctic Monkeys, of course )

Oasis share their name with a refreshing fruit drink. The same can, of course, be said for Orange Juice...

Another band whose name contains a citrus fruit were The Lemonheads

And another band whose name contains lemons is Lemon Jelly.

I can't imagine why a talented band like Arctic Monkeys would want to demean themselves so badly, throw away all their credibility, and repel half the civilised world.

They won't do the gig, I suspect, but it would have been nice for a bunch of Sheffield teenagers in their home town to completely blow the 'arrogant eyebrows' off the stage.

The colour of lemons is Yellow. Like the song by Coldplay.

The members of Coldplay were students at UCL and so was Justine Frischman of Elastica.

And so was I.

Justine Frischmann of Elastica used to be involved with Damon Albarn of Blur.
