Three have sent me insane

Hi people,received my new phone from 3 on tuesday a sony-ericsson k608i.
The phone itself isnt to bad,but the sound is terrible.so soft, even set to maximum.
So i phoned 3,tonight thursday.Got through to a 0870 number surprise.Befor that i had emailed them earlier in the day.So they mailed me a number to phone, which i did.
Got through, a scotsman on the other end asked if i was a dealer, after 5 minutes of explaining i wasnt,he started to listen.
Told him i had problems,he said we can exchange it.Have any phone you want no extra. So i said a nokia n70.He said ok no problem.Hold the line just got to how we do it.
Comes back after 5 minutes, puts me through to another number insread of me redialling.
The pratt has only put me back through to himself.
The penny finally dropped he laughed and said the other operator had give him this number.
So they gave another 0870 number, this time i got through to india.
He was more help so i thought,He closed the account.
He then gave me another 0870 number,to arrange for a jiffy bag to return it.
But get this, the number he had just given me was the first 0870 number i rang. And when i got through i had to beg her, please dont give me another number,as it would be the same as the first one.
They are insane, dont touch them at all.

Sorry, bit confused.

You recieved a phone that turned out to be faulty and rather than a handset exchange, you've managed to completly close your three account and they're going to give you a jiffy bag to return the faulty SE handset?

Surely all you need to do now is take out a new contract with an N70 either online or over the phone via their direct sales?

Are you serious, wouldnt touch 3 with a barge pole after this fiasco.
If i had exchange my handset, they would not have sent out the replacement, until they received the original handset. They also told me it wouldnt be till after christmas.
Why should i pay for something im not using.
Think after my o2 contract finishes in february ill go back to pay as you go,on o2.
100 free anytime, any network minutes or 300 texts.Plus spend your £10 on whatever you want.
People knock o2,but 3 are a farce.

Three customer services are appauling unfortunatly and it lets down the massively improving network.

I left them at the end of my second year to go to O2, but only because O2 offered me a better deal and a better handset.

Customer service on O2 is better than on Three, although there appears to be the odd idiot at O2, they are just rarer there.

If you don't require customer service help and don't want open internet then Three are fine. I was pleased with their network for two years, but the customer service was the final straw.

I had a simular problem with Orange, and that's why I left Orange and went to Vodafone. Best move I ever made, Vodafone Customer services are a million times better than I ever had with Orange.

On the subject of "3" though, I know through experience that their customer service IS getting better, and with Ericcson taking control over the running of "3" then things will get better. The service on "3" is also getting better by the day, and with the new phones, "3" is really a great network to be on for cheap calls!

Remember, at the end of the day, Customer Service is all a matter of pot-luck, and depends on who you talk to the other side of the phone and what knowledge they have. Sadly, some people get unlucky and speak to idots on the phone, you had that trouble with "3" and I had it with "Orange". I'm sure people have been in exactly the same situation with ALL the other networks!

Exactly, people say O2 CS and the network services are crap. At least they actually try and want to help you, have better signal and when you phone CS (in all the times i have), you actually speak to someone who speaks proper English and they're fully understandable!

Next time, anyone who thinks O2 is crap. Just remember all the complaints made on here and other various places by (now former) 3 customers and that 3 is 1000 times worse than any network in the UK!

If you can get an expert to say that you are now certifiably insane i suspect that you could probably get some money out of them.

I called customer services at 1 p.m..Got through to a very well spoken indian lady.I was just checking to see if the account had been closed and a jiffy bag had been sent out.
So that i can return the handset.
She confirmed it had.
I sad thank you and good bye, then put the phone down.
Within 10 seconds she had called me back to tell me she had cancelled the direct debit.
I sad thank you and told i had already done it.
If they had been a bit more cooperative last night i might have reconsidered.
Shame really,i like there call plans.

Orange CS by far the best! They are friendly, ring you back regularly when you log a fault, so they can give you up to date info!

Orange CS are good, but it will all change when they move to India.

Once that happens i'm canceling my contract with them. I refuse to be tied to a company that thinks its acceptable to have an Indian call center. I cannot hear i word they are saying and there reading from a script half the time.

Called three again today at midday to ask where my jiffy bag has to,to return the handset.
The indian lady said what jiffy bag.No one has requested one to return a handset.
She said she would send one out to return the handset, but that i only have 8 days left to return it under the 14 day return policy.
I said i requested it the day after i got the handset.
She said sorry but its got to be back within the 14 days or i would be charged.
So after nearly a 35 minute conversation with a half drunk scot who put me through to himself,on day 2.
I was no better off.
I dont know about me going insane,i think im going to have to be sectioned.
Good old 3.

Fortunately you can still get out of the deal.

Just imagine what its like having to go through a whole contract period with them!

Best way to avoid problems with 3 is not to become involved with them in the first place!

Ericsson? Surely not? I think you mean for the network infrastructure...

That won't improve the customer service one bit.

I have had problems with 3 in the past i was on pay as you go with them and loved the 500 minutes for £25 bundle but the texts are quite expensive and the phones were quite hard to use for texting with (e.g. the u8120).

I left as their service was beyond a joke and i felt uncomfortable when calling customer services as it took me ages to communicate with thwm and i felt like i was being a nuisance if i asked about something that they are supposed to know about.

I doubt I will be back, vodafone pay as you talk does me great value bundles and stop the clock Only thing is that they don't roll over which is annoying

When I turn 18 in 4 months time I will get a contract either with T-Mobile or Vodafone.

Whilst I'm not a 3 supporter or hater, its been funny to read this thread as the only network that didnt get any bashing was Vodafone, and even though everyone else was making statements like "i Had problems with O2, rubbish" or "Orange are crap" these comments were mostly chosen to be ignored... I know the OP had a gripe with 3 in the first place. These issues are quite common across all the networks, and as for the customer service side of things you are always going to get in touch with an idiot at some point...
Every network is heading that way the second they send their CS over to whatever country.. and by whatever country I mean where it happens to be at the time, CS in India has probably only got about another 5 years left in it, then it'll move onto somewhere else that can do it even cheaper...

Actually, T-Mobile's not been bashed in this thread either but your point still stands. Only thing I personally would add to it is that the issues and the CS idiots are more common/more likely to pop up on some networks than they are on others...

That's true - I can't agree enough. I've got to admit I've not had the pleasure of Orange India CS too much, just when speaking to registrations/sim swaps, however... well... going by that alone... how can I put this? um.. the phrase "done it for the money" comes to mind as it was very hard work for me the customer... which doesn't bode well

I was having problems with the battery life of my moterola phone, i rang three up on the number"333" from my handset i got straight through to some one from india they said that my battery was faulty and they'll have some one collect it next day someone came i was supirsed because id rang at 9pm! and they still got some one to come next morning. they sent me the "repaired " handset i was still having problems with low battery life so i rang up again and the same man came to collect next day "still having problems don't worry its not just you!" So i got my handset back after a few days and still my"repaired" handset was faulty rang up for the third time told the guy on the phone if you don't get me a new phone ill leave three! so the same guy came next morning, got the handset back in a few days this time on the letter it said "replaced handet!" now my phone works fine but it took 1 and a half weeks to sort it out!
