I've had a Toppy for a couple months and haven't experienced any bugs that I can think of. It does work differently from the Fusion though. Different people have different definitions of "bug".

Best PVR on the market in my opinion. Had mine a while now and have had no probs. This weekend there is a new firmware update to improve the Toppy even more.
Shop around for the best deal, Empire direct were doing a good deal.

Cheapest I found was here:

And they did next day delivery included in the price.
£258.99

Cool! I got mine this morning.

Empire Direct still seem to be the cheapest "mainstream" retailer I can find and as far as I can tell the high street names don't even stock it!

I'll be buying my Toppy from Empire Direct in the next week or so but in the meantime I'll be watching (and updating) the price comparison information on my website!

I couldn't wait... - I just bought mine from Superfi for about £250 with free delivery, it should be with my by the weekend hopefully!

Unfortunately I've tried to add Superfi to the Topfield price comparison on my website but their web site seem to be blocking by price-grabbing scripts and they don't appear to provide any data feeds

Got mine from Superfi just after Christmas.

They seem like good guys and the Topfield is wonderful.

Wish I bought one last summer when I first started looking to replace my VHS.

I just love the ParcelForce online tracking... I guess this means my Toppy will be delivered this morning sometime - I'm not back until tonight so I hope some one else is in to receive it!

My "Black Panther" Toppy is now installed and working with absolutely no hassle at all - very impressive so far.

Top marks to Superfi for service/delivery too!

Ordered it Monday night and if I'd been in when the parcel man called I could have been playing about with it by midday on Thursday. As it was I just had a quick trip to my local post office on Friday morning and I was sorted!

Now I'm off to investigate the TAPs that are available for download, it shouldn't take me long to bust the Toppy with some of those!

Is there a recomended retailer for the Topfield and which is the cheapest place? But I would rather spend a few more £s and be able to return it without hassle if things go wrong!

If you want the least hassle, then deal with the main distributor, www.turbosat.com, though their prices may not be as keen, they provide very good service.

Depending on which size disk and which colour you want, it may be worth shopping around; www.toppy.org.uk/shops.php has a list of suppliers.

Yep, I got mine from Superfi too. A quick note, though, the website was showing 'sold out' but a couple of their stores had some in still. Just charged an extra £10 for the postage...

I bought my Black Panther from Tracsat who,at the time, had them in stock when Turbosat did not.
Tracsat was also cheaper.

Can you tell me if you need to have a computer to download the updates
I am on a mac and wonder whether it would work if I have to download through it and then transfer onto the toppy or does the machine do it all itself?

Firmware updates can be done OTA - the first over the air update was in December; I don't know when the next one will be. So no, you don't need a computer to do firmware updates.

You can also do firmware updates from the Mac, with a program called ToFi, which needs a Mac with a USB 2.0 port to work reliably. There are also some other useful Mac tools to use with a Toppy.
