superbit
what do the superbit dvds look like when played through a progressive scan dvd player linked up to a hd ready lcd tv.
do they look almost high definition or are they just a little bit better than normal dvd. |

They are a sales gimmick by studios who release sub-standard DVD's in the first place
![]() Well maybe not that bad but there really should be no need for superbit however there are plenty of cheap titles around now so if PQ is slightly more important than extras on a single disk they might be useful. A DVD regardless of bitrate is still only 720*576 so will never look as good as HD but you may notice a little difference between two versions of the same movie IF the original was poor quality. |
